There's not enough games these days with robots as main, playable characters. Yeah, there's a few that no one takes seriously like Clank and Chibi Robo, or ones that no one cares about anymore, like Mega Man.. and yes, there are some pretty cool robots enemies, bosses, side kicks and secondary characters and such, but no badass main characters.

In the threesome of awesome video game character occupations; Ninja, Pirate and Robot, Robot is easily the most versatile occupation yet has some of the least representation.

Where's my Cylon Centurion game? Hmm? HMMM?

I tottally agree Blue_Duck! I find that playing as robots is extremely kick ass! I mean who can beat a robot created to kill in a fight? No one.

But in the end you have to look at why they don't have many Robot main charaters in games that everyone and remember/ Most video games that are remembered as "classics", and I said MOST, is because of the amazing stories and story lines behind the gameplay. Of course there are some games that people love regardless of the story and that are just fun to play like mario and stuff like that, but look at some of the big game franchises: Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Zelda. What do all of these have in common? KICK ASS STORIES. These stories in video games are key to emerse the player. Without a good story, its just another video game. Now what am i getting at?

The main component of a story is the main character. When a player cares for the story he visuallizes himself as the character. Now this is quite hard to do with a robot character, because robots don't have feelings, personallities ect. that would let the player connnect with these characters.

For these reasons I believe that this is why they don't make robot characters. Its just too hard to emerge the player enough into the game. Now this is my opinion and I'M SURE someone else dissagrees, but thats what I think.
