The Greatest Video Game Sidekicks

I found this list of greatest video game sidekicks. I thought it was a decent list but could have been bigger considering there has been so many.

4. Garrus Vakarian (Mass Effect)
5. Yoshi (Super Mario World)

7. Luigi (Super Mario Bros.)
8. Tails (Sonic the Hedgehog)
9. Robin (Batman: Arkham City)
10. Diddy Kong (Donkey Kong)

The list is pretty tight but I thought of a few honorable mentions.

Dom (Gears of War) That guy goes all the way as a sidekick.

Lynch (Kane & Lynch) He is a complete psychopath but hey he is still a good sidekick right?

Totec ( Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light) Another worthy sidekick where you have to rely on his abilites to progress and vice versa.

So what do you guys think of the list? Any replacements? Any worthy ones get left out? Thoughts?

Most of those don't really belong there. I mean, I'm a fan of clap trap and all, but I wouldn't call him great.

I think Otacon should be put on the list considering he can just about hack his way into anything, and has stealth camouflage. Also, Tatl, King of Red Lions and Midna are all really great.

And I don't think Garrus should be on there. I find that him and saren are pretty indicative of the Mass Effect story as a whole: They are both decent characters but extremely overrated. If any character should be on there from Mass Effect, it's Wrex. Most of the other characters were so so.

At the very least a sidekick should be a playable character. Or should have an obvious affect on how you play the game.

Robin and Potato GlaDos are kind just..... There.... You know...

Big shout out to my main man Drippy from Ni No Kuni. Best voice in gaming and extremely funny to boot. Warning slight spoilers for anyone that's not played the game .

I'd have to say Max from Sam and Max. Great sidekick and a good friend.

What? no Alex from Half-Life 2? oh well.

I'd have to say, the best side kicks in gaming are;

Meryl (Metal Gear Solid)

The Arbiter (Halo 3)

Alex (Half-Life 2)

I cant think of any others at the moment that haven't already been added, but those are ones that should be on the list of best vide game companions.
