Story driven games have largely been a niche in the video game industry although recently there has been a resurgence of sort in the form of Uncharted 2, Enslaved and even games like Mass Effect. A game that further drives the importance of story in games is Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. Here's a link to a particular review. Now I'm pretty sure no one has heard of it and that most people never will. The game has 6 multiple endings as well as being one of the 11 M rated games for the DS. The story is riveting and it just drives you to keep on playing. My point being, games that have a good storyline should be supported because its still an emrging industry in the video-game world and it should be supported.

I just heard about this game earlier today. I intend to grab it. It looks like my kind of game. Games like this usually don't come out of Japan, so I'm going to support them when they do.

Visual Novels are not, or are rarely puzzle orientated, it would be more like a graphic adventure game.

I'm assuming its like Blazblue . Fighting game that uses a visual novel format for its story tellings.

puzzle game that uses VN format for story telling.

While it won't be a true VN its still probably the closest thing state side that we will get .

Edit

Not to derail but if you have any VN recommendation

I;ve read Clannad and Tomoyo After : though I need english patches :(

It has 6 endings so your actions determine the story ending as well.

Let me talk about two forgotten 360 gems Condemned & Prey

Condemned was the first 360 game to really SCARE THE HELL OUT ME it's story was really well thought out, the graphics were oustanding, and although I did not play the sequel I felt like there really wasn't a need to do a sequel. It's a short game but man Condemned is one FRIGHTENING TITLE.

Prey also has terrific story and the language in Prey is saltiier than sea water I know who doesn't love the F-BOMB seriously your girlfriend mutates into an uncontrolable monster and after beating the creature the only way to get to the next stage is by walking up and putting a bullet in her head. I know how screwed up is that you spend all this time hunting to find her and BAMN you have to kill her to save her soul.
