Don't like modern games? Think the "good old days" were and still are better? Talk about it here to save the rest of us from this tired subject.

Modern threads are bad, I liked them better in the good old days.

They were made with love back then.
Is this thread a joke or a serious topic to discuss? I'm confused.Metamania
It's a joke that has ligitmate use! The best of both worlds.

So, you're pretty much taking a piss on people that have legit points and concerns about the direction the gaming industry has taken? Duly noted dear mod. This is kinda a new low for the gamespot forums, that is sayin' something. And I was only semi-serious about both the thread and the title. :P
Modern threads have been dumbed down for the casuals.PannicAtack

This is kinda a new low for the gamespot forums, that is sayin' something. It's a bit cheeky, yes, but I think it's more to make fun of the fact that we've been seeing essentially the same thread posted multiple times under different titles these past few weeks. The whole discussion's rather tiresome at this point, and I think a good deal of us would rather see it all relegated in one thread as opposed to clogging up the board with unnecessary retread topics. So, you're pretty much taking a piss on people that have legit points and concerns about the direction the gaming industry has taken? What's the point in being on a forum if we can't poke a little fun? Wasn't ever meant to be an insult toward those with reservations toward modern gaming. (My apologies if it came off that way.) Just thought it'd be a good way for the folks to blow off some steam. This place is so damn serious most of the time. We could use more goofy threads.
Besides, if it really does take off as a thread for folks to discuss the subject in, then all the better. We've gotten such a large number of threads decrying the state of the industry that it had gotten tiresome, especially when they were all mostly reiterating the same points. If this cuts down on thread redunancy, then hey -- everyone wins!
^ Beat me to it! :x

Lighten up. This wasn't meant to piss on the Nostalgia gamers. If you've been following the happenings of PGD for the past few weeks, "modern gaming stinks" threads have been popping up like weeds. Most of them offered little to no legitimate points and just sparked heated debates that ended up turning into a mudslinging contest. Now with this thread, those same people who start those kinds of threads can come here and talk amongst each other. And they can spare us who don't share their sentiments from this horse that has been beaten to death.
So far, there are only people making jokes, but give it time. Maybe some discussion will come about.
The opening post should be "Don't have the money to keep up with modern gaming? B*tch about how much modern gaming sucks here!"Black_Knight_00So much f*cking lol
Game developers used to not care about money and their games were only a means to prove how artistic they could be.
Stupid modern casual/hand holding/ coporate asshats/ mountain dew and doritos etc.

Oh, I thought you were being sarcastic.
I wasn't serious at all, as I thought poking fun at such viewpoints was the entire point of this thread. Â

He actually sent me the following PM before he was banned:

Just wanted to remind you how horribly DmC sold, which it barely broke half a million sales. Nobody liked it and it flopped so hard that the series is most likely dead forever and the future is not looking bright for Ninja Theory. Maybe you should not have such mediocre taste. Does it hurt you deeply that DmC flopped like a big floppy fish out of water?
Oh, in your blog you also say, "God bless", so that means that you believe in God, so you might want to refrain from insulting my intelligence in the future.Â
You are much better off leaving the forums forever, you super troll. Fact is that when you new casual gamers ruin games with your new styles of mediocre games, you ruin games for people who have been playing games for longer than you have.
You are the one in the wrong, so go away and never return.Â
I think I may keep that PM for posterity.Â

Would you mind boiling down the 30 minute video into a paragraph or two?

Man, that's way tamer than the stuff he sent me.
Wait, he actually sent inflammatory PMs to a mod? :|Man, that's way tamer than the stuff he sent me.

He's like the "Don't tase me, bro!" guy of video games (Holy crap, that reference is outdated).

He never sent PMs. It always through outside sources. Like this post through Twitter:
You are a ****ing ugly little **** and you should kill yourself. Oh and don't think you can stop me from creating a new accnt!
He went on like that for a while.

Companies desperate for money after the recession, so they toss half made games out the door long before they are finished again and again, only for the games to flop, or they simply release copy/paste games, like Call of Duty. They could easily climb back to there former glory if they would just slow down the development of there games, and take there time. Dozens of companies have been doing this since 2008. Then they load up there games with DRM out of paranoia, and then blame pirates for poor sales in order to cover there asses. Please Log In to post.
