>Ok< So now, as i was reading through the older pages on this forum here, I noticed a like of Rpgs. So, i thought why not make the best Rpg thread, of older generations of course. Now my thread will be a bit different. I will list my top list, and since I am not much of an RPG fan as I would say it is my 8th favorite genre, well, 9th. I would like you guys to comment on my list, maybe suggest some games, then some other people list their top games and we all comment so we can explore more rpgs at the same time. It's like family except nothing like it at all in reality. So, my list will separate in tiers. but unlike my last Tier thread, I will not be posting pictures as more games are involved here. Also, keep in mind, not the biggest fan of the genre. >Oh< and of course, I will separate by Wrpg and Jrpg. Jrpg list below - Tier List A: Breath of Fire 3, Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy 2, Grandia, Legend of Legaia, Xenogears, Phantasy Star IV, Phantasy Star 3 (Battle music annoys the hell out of me though), Brain Lord, 7th Saga, Paladins quest, Skies of Arcadia, Arc the Lad. X Command Mission, Battle Network 3 and 2, Panzer Dragoon saga, Tier List B: Breath of Fire, Pokemon XD, Pokemon Colli, Baiten Kaito origins, baiten kaitos Eternal wings, Fire Emblem: Radiance, Pokemon Sapphire/Emerald, FFV Advance, Shining Soul. Tier List C: Red Rescue Team, Digimon World 1,2,3,4. Shadow hearts, SMT;Nocturne, Arc The lad: Sprites, Arc the Lad: End of Darkness, Destiny of an emperor. Tier List D: Lufia 1, Virtua quest - Wrpg list Below - Tier List A: Fable 1, KOTOR1, KOTOR2, ES: Morrowind, Wizardry: proving grounds, Fall out, Fall out: brother hood of steel, Dungeon Siege 2, Space Siege, Bard tale, Never Winter knights, Ultima 7, Ultima 5, Swords and Serpents, Stone Keep, Fable: Lost chapters, System shock, System shock 2, Castle of winds, Wasteland, Freedom force, Shadow run Tier List B: Jade Empire, Baldurs gate, Dues Ex 1, Fall Out 2, Fable 2 Tier List C: Wizardry 8, Ice wind Dale, Planet Scape Tier List D: Pool of radiance >So< there you go. Oh yeah, and some of the words and lists are crushed together. just bear with it, I tried, the forums seem to have a problem aligning the text, so just look carefully. maybe a mod will fix it later.

SMT series is definetly one of my favourite series. The list lacks Rogue Galaxy and Dragon Quest VIII, two great RPG's for the PS2. I just don't like how you separate them in "Tier a, Tier B, etc", as some you put in lower categories for many could be in the higher, so it would be easiest to just name them all and separate them by just JRPG's and WRPGs, that said, I like your list, but it lacks some of my favourites. My favourites would be: Dragon Quest VIII Rogue Galaxy Persona 3 FES Persona 4 Digital Devil Saga .hack//G.U. Vol.1, Vol.2, Vol.3 .hack Vol1, Vol.2, Vol.3, Vol.4 Parasite Eve Golden Sun Front Mission 3 There's tons of other great ones that I plan on playing, just haven't got the chance.

Also, while your here, I have not played Parasite Eve or this .Hack, perhaps you can provide nice summaries on those. Other Wise, good list, although I am pretty sure Front Mission is not an rpg. Not the biggest fan of Golden Sun.

Well it looks like the way you divided the games, games in "Tier A" are superior to the ones in "Tier B, Tier C, etc", that's why I was saying that some people might not enjoy that, me personally SMT Nocturne, for example, is a great RPG. I wouldn't in C. This is, IF that's what you mean, if the categories mean nothing about being superior or not then ignore that. I still like the list. .hack games are action RPG's, they tie in the the .hack anime series, .hack//Sign is an introductory anime to the 4 first .hack games. And .hack//Roots is an anime intro to the .hack//G.U. games, it's probably my second favourite series (in general), but they got pretty low scores here at GS, I usually don't reccomend it to anybody that isn't an anime fan, or anybody at all for that matter, they can get a bit repetitive and it's lots of X button mashing, still love the games though. Parasite Eve is for the PS1, great story and atmosphere, and I love the "dome-range battle system", you should check it out.

The point of the list was to separate them by the best IYO. However, with Tiers, you don't have to debate top 5s and such, you can place all #1 games on the list in Tier a, and all games you would fight for to make a #2 on a top 5 list in Tier B, and so on. Yes, i did see some of the Anime. Maybe I'll try it. Always saw Parasite Eve, never got it for some reason, something threw me off it.

I could go on and on but I'm trying to pick one for every series, though the Fatlus in me is rebelling against that. Though I have Baten Kaitos and Rogue Galaxy, I haven't played those yet. I feel that they will be added to this list though.

This is what you're telling me, these are the things I am drawing from your post. 1. You hate being wrong. 2. you have no idea what a definition of a thread topic is. 3.Your trolling 4. You think your funny. 5. You have a relationship with this game beyond just liking it. Hopefully its neither and you choose a game out before this gen. Maybe Morrowind or something.

Dragon Quest X for the Wii and WiiU is basically an MMO. Doesn't look bad though, just not traditional like everyone wants.
