CD Projekt RED, the studio responsible for The Witcher for PC and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings for PC and Xbox 360, are recruiting for an RPG set "in a dark fantasy world" and a new RPG "in a brand new setting". The developer's official site lists a number of vacancies separated into two areas. The headline for those associated with the new RPG is preceded by a pistol icon. This most probably means that The Witcher 3 and a completely new IP: and RPG in a modern or sci-fi setting are under development at CD Projekt RED. Judging form their strategy plan released last year both titles can be expected to hit the market in 2014 and 2015. Earlier this year they have also admitted to be working on a next-gen game engine. I can't wait to see the results of all that.

I'd be very interested in seeing what they can do with a sci-fi setting.

As for the Witcher 3, not sure if I'm really that excited for it... having gotten The Witcher 2 for the 360 last month, the game is good but seems to have been overrated by the PC crowd.

And The Witcher isn't for everyone, you have to actually be interested in the story to like it.

Could never really get into either Witcher. Didn't really like the combat.

Yea I can't for the life of me see where all of the hype about The Witcher 2 is coming from. According to the reviews, it is the greatest game ever made, but I sure can't get into it at all.

Awesome... Can't wait for Witcher 3! Also interested to see what else they come up with in regards to a "modern or sci-fi setting".

I agree. Im playing The Witcher 1 now, and big part of it is the character interactions regarding story. Very good game. Combat is okay... sometimes very annoying.

Playing the Witcher 1 too. Best RPG I played in a long while. But i agree: to appreciate The Witcher series you have to like classic RPGs (not just shooters that pretend to be RPGs) and be willing to invest, read and think a bit - things that the majority of gamers avoid like fire these days. So no. It's definitely not for the Call of Duty crowds.
