A couple weeks ago, my sister went to a GameStop and picked up a copy of 'New Super Mario Bros.' and a copy of 'The Simpsons Hit and Run'...

I don't know how much the Mario Bros. was but The Simpsons Hit and Run was $25...but it was in a Greatest Hits case...aren't those only supposed to be $20?

Plus, it was a used greatest hits copy...for $25...

Didn't they overcharge her? Can they do that?

Yeah, reads like it. If it wasn't a couple of weeks ago, I would say return it. Don't know if there is anything you can do now.

They can sell the game for whatever price as long as someone buys it.

That def. does not seem right...wasn't hit and run like $20.00 when it came out? After all the bad reviews one would think that it was around the 7 to 9 dollar range especially used man.

What bad reviews?

Anyway, that might be a bit much for a used Greatest Hits version. Have you found a copy cheaper elsewhere?

I'm sure I've seen it for cheaper at other places ( I'm certain of it ) but my sister doesn't really know much about games so she thought that there was nothing wrong with a $25 price tag...but I told her that any Greatest Hits game should be no more than $20...hopefully, she listened to me...

She also found a GBA version of the old NES Mario Bros. for $35 bucks! That seemed really high to me, too...I think she said that was at EB Games...

uh i think she got ripped off. again. dont forget that EB Games and GameStop are the same company now, so everything that comes with being ripped off at GameStop, now applies to EB Games. Bring the stuff back as fast as you possibly can. time is of the essence. you can find both those games for cheaper, I'm sure of it.

She didn't buy Mario Bros. ( she wanted to but not for $35) and I think it's too late for her to take back 'Simpsons Hit and Run' and 'The New Super Mario Bros.'...I think she either got them last week or the week before...

There have been times that the guys there have let me exchange games, if I was a couple of days past the return date. I live about an hour away from the nearest store, so they gave me a little leeway.

It might have been a popular game in your area (it IS condidered one of the best Simpsons games, after all), and the local Gamestop might be the only one with a copy. Otherwise, it would take some cheek overcharging for a greatest hits packaging.

GameSpot has no control over what GameStop charges for games.

MSRP is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. The retailer can charge whatever it wants.

Sounds like she got ripped off, that game is poor anyway, but I guess the popularity of The Simpsons attracted the store to up the price.

Hey, it's one of the best Simpsons games. Nothing special, but still good.
