Owlboy- Best Metroidvania game in recent years, from its tight gameplay to interesting concepts I can't find much to fault. Every area has a purpose and it's an indie treasure I would gladly recommend for years to come.
D00M IV- What really needs to be stated? A First Person Shooter that remembers what good level design is and also includes meaty/ twitchy shoot-outs. Both of which D00M III failed to deliver. Bravo id for getting out mediocrity.
Dark Souls III- It does some things better, and fewer things worse than previous game in the series. Many have to really nit-pick the flaws because overall it's the most well rounded in the series. And plays better than every other Souls game.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze- while everyone jumps on the zeitgeist that was Odessey and Breath of the Wild. Donkey Kongs WiiU game is, in my view, the crown jewel of Nintendo. With a Switch version coming I recommend Switch owners go for this delightful unappreciated platformer.
The Evil Within (both games)- I like Survival Horror (too much), not so much Stealth Horror, these games are generally what fans wanted after Resident Evil 4. And in my opinion succeeded even with the first games technical issues. And it shows with them not exactly being AAA budget games, but think the experiences satisfy a fanbase left to rot last generation of gaming.
Tearaway- Doesn't matter to me if you play the Vita or PS4 version. This is a very clever platformer that handles its mechanics very well in a world designed around each tool.
Divinty: Original Sin II- I've admittedly gotten addicted to this game during Christmas period. And it's the game I expected all these Bioware games to handle like based upon fan praise. DivintyII is a RPG/ turn based/ Dungeons and Dragons simulator. And one I recommend all serious P.C. Gamers give a try if you like fantasy settings.
Monster Hunter World- So, I'm conflicted. . Because I want to recommend 4G (still my favorite MH game) however the 3DS is not "this gen". and that really dims the light in the latest Monster Hunter games favor. And that's no disrespect to World. It is, mechanically the best MH game. It just lacks content (time will fix that burden) and has some annoying streamlined features, currently not patched to fit late-game Hunters, that want to remove that tedium.
One note that I will continue with Monster Hunter is, try it. If you have three friends to join you. That makes the game even better. Whether you're playing 4G or World. Skip the X series unless you hate yourself.

6. Bloodborne (PS4
It's your opinion and all but have to comment on this_
Coming from someone who beat NG Bloodborne on its release date. . How? Bloodborne isn't that great when you break it down. Worst PvP in the Soulborne games, Chalice Dungeons are lazy end game to pad out the shortest game in the companies history, Arcane is a useless stat/ while Bloodtinge is broken, and over half the game runs worse than PS3 DkS Blight Town.
Dark Souls III> Bloodborne
Only reason someone should be favoring Bloodborne? is if you prefer the Victorian style and prefer the more Action focus/ lack of build variety. If you want an Action RPG? Bloodborne will disappoint, if you want a PvP FROM game? Bloodborne will disappoint, and if you want a creative build? Boom! BB disappoints.
Only other logical reason I can see someone favoring Bloodborne is it's exclusive, with all the benefits that come with that. Won't argue that Bloodborne is better looking than Dark Souls III ever so slightly, thanks to Sony Japans efforts (exclusives do tend to look better), however is that enough to favor the game when it fails in so many areas?
Not here to crush your love for Bloodborne. Would like to know why you rank it so highly if nothing else.
