You got to play as one of them slow, lumbering ugly as sin Big Daddies that go around going "UUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Like, give me some character pride please? I mean why not make me play as one of those splicers with the funky Venice masks that walk along the walls or something. I don't want to play the game as one of those size 16 feet, slow ass bastards that look like a pickled onion with a carrot for an arm. I mean look at the design for the big sister! She looks awesome, I want to play as that!I don't likewhat you've given me to play with.

Take it away, do not want.

Me neither. I don't want to play Bioshock 1 anymore, for that matter. What sense is there in letting me aim down the sight of a weapon if headshots do as much damage as a bullet to the toe?

You're making the unfair assumption that there will be no character development. Maybe it will be a man who's been enslaved by someone to be a big daddy? ....I just made that up, but you get the point.

I was VERY worried about that as well. But after watching a few gameplay videos the new Big Daddy you play as seems much quicker than the suit you got into at the end of Bioshock. I'm very excited about B2, I hope playing as a Big Daddy works. And I'm with you TC, the Big Sister's look fantastic.

You don't play as one of the original big daddy's. You are a prototype big daddy. You are less armored, but fast agile and unique. You're abilities are different and you are completely separate. Plus, no more annoying helmet to have to look through, warping the screen. Looks pretty awesome to me... I'm excited.

Your'e not a full big daddy, you're a prototype, so you're a lot thinnner and quicker. Although the big sister does look much cooler...

I did like your description of the BD's as a pickled onion with a carrot for an arm though.

A big old dumb Big Daddy? No thanks. But; a Prototype Daddy, that 's cool.

I bought Bioshock when it went down to $20. I initially thought it was pretty good--great opening sequence being in the water. However, I didn't expect it to be an FPS on rails. The combat, story, and general feel of the game became dull and redundant. I don't understand its critical praise. How can an FPS with such weak combat, essentially what a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER is about, be considered game of the year?

I'm concerned I'll have to do a hefty bit of protecting a little sister-
my least favorite part in the original Bioshock.
Can someone ease my mind regarding this?

Yup, they mentioned in a magazine article that the dynamic is different in this game because the little sisters do look toward you as their kin. But instead of the escort mission you can kind of give them a piggy back ride around, allowing them to harvest Adam when you have cleared an area. (So it seems they wont be a burden you have to watch out for, but you can still use them to recover Adam periodically)

The prototype Big Daddy (which you will play) is much faster and smaller than the Bouncers, Rosies and Rumblers. After seeing gameplay videos, the character is more or less as fast as the character you played in Bioshock. I loved Bioshock, and personally think it's one of the best FPSs I've ever played. I can't wait for this one. So if it's the speed, don't worry about that. 2K would never pick a character that would make the game slow and sluggish.

Overall I liked Bioshock, but as the game went on I thought the available weapons were about as useful as a BB gun.:P:lol:

The weapons in Borderlands, now you're talking some serious firepower.

I agree, its hard to say something negative about a game you haven't even played yet, until you play the game you don't know how the story is going to be.

Yeah, that's the big problem that they need to fix that makes me a bit worried. The main way you interact with the world is done very poorly. The wrench easily became my most reliable and useful weapon throughout the majority of the game to the point where I probably spent 90% of the time with it out. I'm probably in a minority on this one, but I would rather play a point-and-click Bioshock adventure game over another Bioshock FPS. You already can't lose like an old Lucasarts game, why not go all the way?
