Resident Evil 5, a third-person survival horror game wherein you'll play as Chris Redfield or Sheva Alomar (if you finish the game). It was released in year 2009 for Xbox 360, PS3, PC. It was also released for PS4 and Xbox one last year. This game sets in kijuju (if I were not mistaken), a place somewhere in Africa. What can I say about the gameplay of this game? The gameplay is similar to the Resident Evil 4's gameplay but they put slight changes in it like for example, you can play this game with a friend through co-op and the majinis in this game are way more aggressive than the enemies in the previous games. You can give items to your partner such as ammunition, recovery items (e.g. herbs, first-aid spray), and others except weapons unless if you are organizing items before you start the next chapter or start from the last checkpoint.
The storyline of Resident Evil 5 gets interesting continuously most especially when Chris found out that the person he thought is dead is actually alive (kinda cliche though) and surprisingly, Albert Wesker became more powerful than before because of the virus and there is his puppy (not in a literal manner), Excella Gionne. To cut the story short, Chris and Sheva killed Wesker using a pair of RPG (1 for Chris and 1 for Sheva) and the helicopter leaves to the area and inside, you'll see Jill and Josh aside from Chris and Sheva. In the gold edition of the game, if I were not mistaken, you can play the Lost Nightmares and oops, I forgot the other one but in this side story game or whatever it is called, you'll play as Jill or Josh (if you finish the game) and who can forget about the mercenaries mode? No one. Mercenaries mode has a variety of characters to choose. I prefer using Rebecca Chambers because she has a lot of recovery items and her starting weapons are good enough for area of effect (hopefully, you know what I mean).
If you are looking for a replay value, this game has it. You can replay all the chapters if you want to grind and collect all the emblems. You can also practice playing the Mercenaries mode and reach the highest score if you can just make sure you know where to find the time extend and the combo item or whatever is it called. At first, the camera angle is too horrible if you'll play it for the first time but as you play throughout the game, you'll get used to it. In the PC version, the frames per second (fps) are capped from 30-60 fps but you can set it to uncapped. In default, the frames per second is not capped so you don't have to worry about adjusting fps that you desire.
In Lost in Nightmares, you can change your camera angle to fixed camera angle, the camera angle used from the previous Resident Evil games, by interacting with the entrance door (I don't know how many times). The concept in this game are fresh as the other RE games but some parts of it were recycled concepts in my opinion. However, it is okay since these add fun to the game.
I guess I already said my pros and cons. Therefore, I'll rate this game 9/10.
Is there anything you want to add about this game?
