Im seriously debating this game. The second one was a major let down and it was the only Crysis I played, what do you think of Crysis 3?

I loved the campaign from crysis 2...and 1...So I'm looking forward to it....but if the MP is as bad as it was in 2 then I hope they leave it out...although I know they won't...crysis 2 had that trophy where it would pop when you played 6 months after your first time online...cheap way of trying to get gamers to avoid selling...
it could be really good...but, i miss the jungle...i really liked crysis 1 and warhead, and while crysis 2 looked good and was a different way to try bringing about the same gameplay, i really missed stalking the enemies thru the jungle and settin up ambushes and the such...i feel as tho the new one could either be really good or just feel like more of the same, they should have changed the setting, they did the jungle and the ice wasteland, they did the city, i was looking forward to a dessert or something like that...oh well
The gameplay they showed did nothing for me to be honest. It seemed more open than C2 but not by much. There is far too much the same though for my liking. Like the HUD is identical, weapon sounds, ambient sound effects, enemy call outs and natural talking.
In short; not impressed yet
It looked far too similar to Crysis 2 to me. I mean, the HUD is a mirror of C2's, with the same effects during the enter/exit cloak or armor mode. I'd like it to be more open and expansive than 2, which I still enjoyed, but I don't know at this point. Still too early for a definitve stance.
I thought it looked a little too much like Crysis 2. Not in a bad way, I enjoyed Crysis 2 as well as the first + Warhead, but it dosen't really seem to bring anything new to the table.
Also, did Psycho's voice actor change? His line in the demo sounded nothing like him. If so, I'm disappointed
The affect console development had on the game was totally evident.greasemonkey42The effect EA had on Crysis, not consoles.

Yep, this is the reason. Consoles didn't affect the game as much as EA did I think. EA have a tendency to gut franchises and casualise them. Mass Effect, Crysis and Dead Space to name a few
Looks like eactly the same game as Crysis 2: linear and scripted. I'll still get it when it drops to 15 bucks, but I know what to expect. Ijust hope they balanced suit powers so you can't play the whole game cloaked an never fire a shot.Black_Knight_00This.

When I said that I was mainly thinking about how the nanosuit mode switching functionailities had been streamlined and hotkeyed to buttons around WSAD, along with a lot of movement options being taken out as well from Crysis 1 as well. Controlling the nanosuit for movement and combat had to become a lot simpler to cram everything onto a console controller.
I mean they even took out dual pistols!
I'm sure EA had some impact but there were loads of noticeable aspects that were more likely due accomodating console development. I've seen console development severely impact other shooters which were originally on PC - FEAR 2 is the most notable example I can think of. That wasn't under EA but the way the game had to be also designed for consoles was completely evident and pretty much turned it from an A grade shooter to a B grade shooter.

The hotkeyed suit fuctions must have been the one thing they did right in Crysis 2, I think they're much better than having to stop and operate that selection wheel. As far as akimbo pistols are concerned, they're not even the issue here: the real problem is they made pistols count as primary weapons, as opposed to Crysis 1 where they counted as a tertiary weapons, which means no one will ever sacrifice a shotgun or sniper rifle to use them.I liked Crysis 2 even if it was more linear. My only gripe was Crysis 2 not taking the fight into the vertical high enough (except for the start of Dead Man Walking) considering all the skyscrapers in the game. Perhaps Crysis 3 might remedy that.
I have not played Crysis 1, however I am currently playing through Crysis 2 at the moment and so far I really enjoy it. It may be linear but it leaves the environment open so that I never feel boxed in. The visuals are great on PS3 (don't care how it looks on PC) the weapon handling is some of the best on consoles in my personal opinion. Sound design is great, great pacing.
The suit really adds to the gameplay, giving the player options. The ability to use stealth is neat but hardly useful. I can just run through an area with no problem, much of the time I don't even need to fire my weapon, just keep running to the next area. So I wouldn't really class this as a stealth game, if I did I'd say it's pretty lousy at it.
But the third game looks great. They really seem to be blending jungle with city, and that could be really cool. But Crysis 2 was so enjoyable that I don't mind more of the same... atleast this time. For Crysis 4 though I expect them to really add to the expierence and take it to a different locale and fix up some of the A.I and animations and so forth.
