Tired of people blaming games.....

So on Dr. Phil a mom is blaming video games on her sons suicide. and ofcourse anyone defending them is being made into looking stupid, or creepy.. when they arent. This gets on my nerves so bad....

haha youre not the only one, you see theyre using video games as a scapegoat because the mom was a crappy parent, i play video games at least one day and theyre what keep me from suicide they dont cause it.

stupid lady burn in hell, video games don't do any of it!!! its the stupid person... I am 14 and can handle rated M games and if I got killed would it be blamed on me playing games?blooddog28

you dont sound like you can handle mature games talking about burning in hell and abusing a lady who lost her son...:P

but seriously just because people are mentally unstable, people should not go blaming video games when they lose the plot and kill themselves or others its a joke and i dont see the video games train people to kill thats like saying i'm going to be better driver if i player need for speed or better at martial arts if i play soul calibur.

edit: i also think that nobody should call themselves dr. unless they are in an actual medical proffession or they can rap :D

If the baby dies on the babysitters watch, they blame the babysitter. Parents seem to be using TV and videogames as babysitters nowadays. Then easily blame it for what the kid did. I guess they find games easier because you are in control of the person on the screen.

more people die from smoking or alcohol , then people dying from video games (how can you die from video games :S)

yet alcohol and smoking are much more acceptable in society to some extent..... (no offence to any smokers by the way)

but I can assure you that as time passes video games will be just as accepted in society as movies and music. in a way, they are much more accepted then they were 20 years ago.

I agree. It really depends on those associated with the matter and their intelligence. Say a boy shot his mom. It would be the mom's fault. The boy would be young, and he didn't understand the intricacies of life. He was mad at his mom, and obtained a gun. The mother would be held at fault, for she should have been more secure about his whereabouts, the sites he visits, etc. Like how GTA inspired kids to shootings. It wasn't the developer's fault: it's the parents. They didn't take into consideration how weak-minded their children were, or noticed how easily influenced the child was by media.

i dont think these kids or gta or fps "inspired" to kill people i think they are messed up and using it as a scapegoat rather than an actual cause for what they did also here are a few cases here are a few from wiki (i know its not that reliable but still these cases all show a history of abuse and neglect)
