I want to play the best tomb raider game. I have them all and metacritic score shows that tomb raider 1 on ps1 has the best overall score but since tomb raider anniversary is a remake of this with better controls I didn't know if this was better because I heard it was a totally different game. so assuming that tomb raider 1 is the best game(over TR2), which is best to play?

It's really hard to say, TR1 is more nostalgic IMO, while TR: Anivasery has better graphic and controls.

if you've never played either then i suggest anniversary for its better controls. you'll find yourself a little less frustrated and it just generally looks alot better.

Anniversary is more of a reinterpretation than a remake. Several boss fights have been altered from simple gun battles into a series of quick time events. It makes the fights look a bit more dramatic but I personally hate QTEs. In general Anniversary is much easier to play due to a less irritating camera and the clearer graphics leading to less leaps of faith. A grabbable outcropping is easier to spot although sometimes Lara has collision issues and will fall to her death anyway. I think the original is more fun but Anniversary is easier to play. They're not identical by any means so playing both is also a decent option.
