which tony hawk game is better american wasteland or proving ground? i know that american wasteland is more focused on story and proving ground is more focused on skating but which one is better overall.

ah yes, get any of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games. except the first one, any of the others are awesome becuase they have Create a Park.
the only good Tony Hawk games are done by Activision and Neversoft

I don't know about Downhill Jam because I've never played it, but I'm pretty sure there wasn't a Page 44 Studios intro movie in Proving Ground or a Shaba Games one in Project 8, but I definitely recall a Neversoft intro. Once you see them you never forget them. I still remember the eye doing crazy flatland tricks in the THPS 3 intro.

And Activision publishes the games, they have no hand in developing them. Maybe Neversoft partnered with those no-name developers, but they're still the muscle behind the Tony Hawk machine.
