Top 10 games with the best stories this gen?

What's your top 10?

hl2, mass effect, Metro 2033 was decent, Dragon Age. More, but i cant rememberLiftedHeadshot

Don't forget Final Fantasy XIII and Metal Gear Solid 4. I can't think of too many other than that though. The Uncharted series kept you hanging, but it wasn't really the best story. :|

Bioshock is up there somewhere.

Mass Effect, Uncharted 2, Assassin's Creed, Hell's Highway, Jericho, Web of Shadows, Bioshock, Condemned.....yeah, that's about it for me.

In no real order..

Bioshock
Heavy Rain
Mass Effect
Half Life 2/ episode 1 & 2
No More Heroes
Gears of War 1 and 2, presumably 3 as well (Some may disagree, but there are some real cinimatic scenes, some of the best animation, and some of the coolest characters ever)
Metal Gear Solid 4
Condemned 1 (Emphasis on the number 1, 2 ruined it IMO)
Assassins Creed 1 & 2 (Though I thought the end of 2 was, ehh.)
Batman: Arkham Asylum

I wouldn't say MW2 had a good story, although it did have some jaw-dropping moments.

MGS4 :P. I don't see how anyone could say this story is anything less then amazing. There have been some other good ones too such as Red Dead Redemption and many I am sure I have not played.

Yeah, it does have it's dull moments sometimes. I found the individual stories behind the people in the quests to be more entertaining than the quests themselves, because you get a sense of how different people coped with the nuclear fallout.

Dragon Quest 8 was pretty good in my opinion

I thought Lost Odyssey;s story was better than many gave it credit for. Really enjoyed Mass Effect's story. Bioshock was good. I loved playing Dragon Age, but the story was a bit cliche. Does Eternal Sonata count?? O.OAllicrombie

1. Halo (Epic space opera ftw.)

2. BioShock (The era, the quandaries, everything, it just works.)

3. Dead Space (The setting, the characters, even the ones you never meet, totally sucked me in.)

4. Fallout 3 (I've got a thing for post-apocalyptia, and the 30's-50's.)

5. Mass Effect (though I don't actually like the game, the story is absolutely awesome.)

6. Gears of War (What can I say, I like the whole, humans fighting for survival shtick.)

7. Crackdown (I know, right? I love it though.)

8. Jericho (Didn't play through myself, but I liked it a lot.)

9. Resonance of Fate (Didn't get to finish it, and it's hellaciously confusing, but I loved it.)

10. Fable (What's to be said. Fantastic fantasy universe)

I agree, Bioshock had an excellent storyline. COuln't put the game down until I finished it.
