Mine:
1. Blizzard
2. Ensemble Studios
3. Rare
4. Bungie
5. Not sure....maybe Valve

1) Capcom. No question. They've given me the greatest gaming memories I have. Super Turbo, 3rd Strike, Mega Man X series, Alpha 2, and many, many more I can't even begin to list right now.
2) Sega. They'd have this spot even if we were just talking about Sega AM2, since it's mostly about Virtua Fighter. The inclusion of all of Sega's other teams from over the years just sweetens the pot.
3) GameArts/ESP. I'm starting to think they're the only team that still knows how to develop a quality RPG. Anything in the Grandia series is far and away better than any other game in the genre.
4) Namco. Two great second-string fighting franchises and an extremely rich history of other arcade classics. Essential gaming for sure.
5) Nintendo. I almost put Konami in this spot, but a seemingly endless stream of great arcade racers and a host of other timeless gems easily take precedence over some down years in the last couple generations.
#1 Nintendo - Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, F-Zero, Star Fox, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, etc.
#2 Blizzard/Black Isle Studios/ Bioware (Triple Tie! :o ) - Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, Fallout, Planescape: Torment, KOTOR, Jade Empire, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, etc.
#3 Konami/Capcom (Tied) - Castlevania, Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Street Fighter, Ghosts n' Goblins, Resident Evil, etc.
#4 Valve/Epic (Tied) - Half-Life, Unreal Tournament, etc.
#5 Sega - Sonic (1990's), Shenmue, Virtua Fighter, etc.
As you can see, I have many ties. :P
Its kinda hard picking a top 5, since there are so many gaming companies that have excellent games.
2 - Bioware/Blizzard/Troika - Great games made (Save WOW) the BG series, NWN series, Warcraft Series, Starcraft, Diablo series, another great list - For Troika though short lived they created three games I quite enjoyed (being that many were former BI studio workers) Arcanum and Vampire both great games with Temple of Elemental Evil also being quite enjoyable
3 - Konami - Castlevania, Need i say more??? Actually to that greatness you can add the MGS series..... Surely not more???? Wait yes they made my favourite survival game of all time (and the only series that actually scared me at times, which scared me psychologically and physically) THE SILENT HILL SERIES
4 - THQ in many forms... - Company of Heroes, Dawn Of War, DOW Dark Crusade, Supreme Commander with Gas Powered Games, Titan Quest, TQ Immortal Throne, STALKER, The Smackdown Series, Conan, Red Faction
5 - Capcom - Resident Evil Series, Monster Hunter Series, STREET FIGHTER - Good nuf for me
Rare was also topshelf material once a long time ago
- Nintendo - No one else has been producing a steady roster of excellent games for as long as Nintendo. This is probably single handedly the most influential and innovative company in the history of videogames....both in software and hardware.
- Irrational Games - It's funny that certain gamers are just hearing about these guys, even though they've been making excellent games like System Shock 2, Freedom Force, SWAT 4 and Tribes Vengeance for over a decade.
- Valve - Producers of what is regarded as one of the, if not THE best FPS franchise out there...helped really craft the mod scene to what it is today.....took the idea of digital distribution to a whole new level in a way that is benefitting the industry as a whole.
- Blizzard - The guys have consistantly made extremely high quality games that are at the top of their genres and shape the industry. What's more, their quality transcends various genres....from RPG, to RTS, to MMO.
- Bioware / Obsidian - Both these companies have team members who have a strong histroy of crafting some of the biggest, best, and most influential single player RPG games out there.
Honorable Mention - Team Ico - creators of some of the most atmospheric games out there.
1. Lucasarts - Just for Monkey Island and Grim Fandango, forget about that Star Wars crap.
2. Capcom - From Ghosts 'n' Goblins and Strider to Street Fighter IIIand Devil May Cry, they are still delivering the goods.
3. Namco - Tekken, Soul Calibur and that's enough for me.
4. Sony - I'm absolutely amazed at the progress Sony has madeas far as1st party output is concerned. Frequency, Ratchet and Clank, God of War, I loved them all.
5. Bioware - Even their mediocre titles are worth playing.
