Following the trend started by"Tyrant" Guy i wish you put on rakings your most disappointing game companies. This in any case means the worst Game Companies but those by whose you expected so much more, possibly insert comments to side of your choices,

as for me

1 TECMO, to me the most disappointing of bunch, they brought some great games with innovative elements inside mainly their gameplay, but they never convinced me, i found in their games great elements of frustration and tediousness as few games gave me, graphics and sound are often great though.

2 SNK, to me they appear as some that tended to emulate in some manner the success gained by populare brands with very scarces results, let's see nthe fatul fury and burning fight games as pale and deformed copies in confront of street fighter and final fight hits.

3 MIDWAY mortal kombat never won me over, the unique title i appreciated with nba jam in arcades was robotron...sigh

4 RARE another company failed to my eyes, their games (i speak of developed nes games) are totally strange, ie snake rattle n roll.

5 Very difficult position, i think i will opt for NAMCO, pac-man (classic) games apart i didn't find nothing good in their most famous franchises.

And now the ball passes to you, please

1. Activision - Obvious, ask anyone :P

2. EA - They're Activision, just with a different name

3. Ready at Dawn - I loved Daxter. Then I played Ghost of Sparta, and like I said in my review it sucked.

4. Rebellion - Probably one of the worst developers ever. Dead to Rights: Reckoning was awful, and this from a fan of the series.

5.Capcom - They were my favourite developers in the early to mid-2000s due to Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry. This gen they've been one of the worst.

I honestly don't get the Capcom hate, they were never my favourite, in fact to me they were never more then a "good" dev, good but not great

and this gen to me they didn't shift at all, they're still "good" but not "great"

I loved Lost Planet 1 and liked Lost Planet 2

Dead Rising is a fun game

DMC4 was okay

I think most of my disappointed stems from the fact that they were so awesome once upon a time, then they fell, and fell, and fell, and fell, and landed on on-disk DLC :P

meh, I never buy DLC I always wait for the "complete" edition or the "GOTY" edition

and if there isn't once I just don't buy DLC and yeah, Capcom is one of the worst when it comes to DLC handling

1. Squaresoft (It seemed like this company rabidly started going down in quality almost as soon as they merged with Enix. There games got worse, their business practices got worse, and worst of all they killed one of the most iconic video game series to ever be released, Final Fantasy. I hate square for all the amazing franchises they destroyed)

2. Rare (I went from anxiously awaiting the release of every N64 Rare game to never buying any of their games once Microsoft bought them out. The massive drop in quality almost warrants them being number 1 on my list, almost)

3. EA (I actually thought EA was a decent company back during the 90s and early 2000s, but they have become the poster child of rehashing games into pure mediocrity, and lead the industry and the most morally corrupt company in gaming)

4. Capcom (They still make great video games, but to enjoy them you have to buy this DLC back, and buy another (which is really just disc locked content), and oh wait, the game has DRM protection too!)

5. Sega (I have nothing against Sega, in fact they are still one of my favorite gaming companies. I am mostly dissapointed because of how sad it makes me that they went from being nearly the biggest video game company in the world to now being some almost obscure developer/publisher who is barley hanging on for its pwn existance. Whether it's their systems failing financially, various franchises being driven into the ground, or just the fact that they're not doing so hot right now, it just makes me sad, all of it..)

I think most people missunderstood your thread. The guy isn't asking "which game companies suck now" people.

Eitherway, I vote Rare as the company that sucks severely now.

#1 Square Enix - Final Fantasy VII was my favorite game of all time and I used to highly regard Squaresoft as a developer. Their games became more linear, more cinematic and lost the magic touch that used to keep me hooked. After merging into Square-Enix, even the Dragon Quest series (considered to embody the essence of old school rpgs) is being turned into an online abomination.

#2 Rare - Microsoft bought them. With the exception of Viva Pinata, their new IPs have been mediocre and the established ones have been ruined.

I agree with SNK and RARE. I loved both but then ended up being just bad.

Only got one :)

EA - well EA Sports, used to be a top sports game seller for me up until 2007, then that's when EA changed into just releasing the same thing with just different features

, here's a short example.

Nascar games up till 2006 were great, then 2007 came along and it was the exact same game except with different drivers

Madden died after 2007 just added new rosters, nothing new

NBA Live? probably the worst NBA games I have ever played,2K seriously kills them, heck NBA 2K4 is better than NBA Live 10

NHL, I liked 2003, but really bad

Baseball games? horrible graphics, controls, and features that are horrible

NCAA games, only games that I notice they take serious besides FIFA

FIFA, I love their FIFA games, mainly because I love futbol a lot, but the PES versions are superior

1. Activision- Call of duty, and overpricing absolutely everything

2. EA- Pretty much the same as above, except they are normally nicer with their prices.

3. Capcom- Turning good fanchises into bad ones

4. Lucas Arts- No KotOR 3

5 Bungie- Took everything that worked and made Halo 1 great, and threw it in the trash. Every Halo game since the first has been exactly that, trash.
