MGS:2 (waiting for the flames but I really enjoyed the game...plus it was really the first game I sat down and beat. So it was, I guess, the game that got me hooked on video games even though I had a system since the NES. This game made me begin to research and stay current with the news.)

1. Shadow of the Colossus (great visuals, great story, great gameplay, innovation to the bone)

2. Star Wars: Battlefront (first game where we could actually have fragfests with your best bud up 'till 4 AM in the SW universe..fun times)

3. Kingdom Hearts II Remix (loved that sparky, seductive Larxene. Great battles with the Organization members)

4. Bully (really captured the essence of school. treachery, deceit, fights, anger, and humor)

5. Midnight Club 3 (loved the astronomical amount of tweaks you could do to your car. great soundtrack.a0

vehemently - as in I vehemently disagree with you that the .hack series is must own games for the PS2.

These are opinions so it's alright if we don't think the same. Personally I don't agree with Kingdom Hearts 2 (KH maybe, but I really didn't like KH2) nor Star Ocean till the end of time. My favorite PS2 games: definitely FFX, Devil May Cry or Onimusha both have their own strengths and weaknesses.

JRPGs are not worth owning in general.

PS2 is all about God of War.
