I'm somewhat mad. I just traded in Oblivion GOTY steelcaseedition, Godfather 2 and NHL 12 which they sell combined for 85 bucks. I got 19. They're making over 400% profit on me!
I got GTA4 with it, so I'm not too mad.

Still, you're better of selling them on your own or using a game trading site like gametz.com or cheapassgamer.com.I haven't played them for a long, long time, and would rather replace it for a different game.

Not familiar with either of those. Besides, I didn't even like those. Godfather obviously sucks, I played Skyrim before Oblivion (way dated), and NHL got boring after a while
I just checked the pre-owned values of those games at Gamestop.com. Together they actually sell for about $50. So while yes, they are making a hefty profit off of you, it's not quite that dramatic.
Also, Gamestop is a middleman. They buy specifically to resell, of course they're going to gouge you. EVERYONE that buys to resell buys low and sells high, not just Gamestop.
If you really want to make money, I suggest ebay. Just undersell your games by a few dollars below the average and they'll get sold relatively quickly.

You know what I find hilarious? People will have no trouble walking in and paying top dollar for a used game at GameStop, yet if you sold that same game at a garage sale and priced it the same price as what GameStop does, people won't buy it. Yet it's the same concept: Used game is a used game whether it's sold from GameStop or your own garage sale. But people would rather support GameStop than your garage sale.
I know because I did exactly this over the summer trying to sell some of my games at my garage sale. I went online and researched every game that I was going to sell and what GS was asking for it. Then I proceeded to knock $5 off my price at my sale. So a $20 GS used game would be $15 my price.
The funniest thing: People would come, look at the games and not buy them because--get this--my prices were too high! Isn't that !@$#ing hilarious? Yet they'd have no hesitation going to GS that same day and probably buying the same game at the higher price because it's from "a store."

I think this has more to do with the expectations of a garage sale rather than supporting a private seller. If you set up a kiosk at a flea market you might have better luck. At yard sales people are looking for things they can get for the change in their wallets.I'm somewhat mad. since you said "bucks" im assuming america. no way in hell their sellin those games for 85$
each of those games will prolly go for less than 20, if they even sell. (lets find out *beep bop boop*)
oblivion 10$ godfather 2 17$ nhl 12 27$
54$ worth of games that prolly will just sit there, and you get 19$
not as bad as you make it out to be, they gotta take ur games but you dont have to sell em. if you really feel so victimized selling old games, and a sports title (which i assume the new ones coming soon so they prolly have 100's o people trading in there old 2012 versions to get the most cash possible, so gamestop's just gonna have 100's of copies of a game they wont sell), then dont sell em. i sell games to em as well and i dont like the prices sometimes, but i understand them. if ur not gonna play the game anymore, and unless they are actually trying to screw u over, be glad ur getting anything.
and dont forget they gotta pay their employees. the "400% profit" isnt going directly into daddy warbuck's wallet.
