If you own Final Fantasy XI, then you will not trade your PS2. Final Fantasy XI and HDD are sort of exclusive fat PS2.

You may keep your fat PS2 while slim PS2 will become your back-up.

I wouldn't trade the original PS2 model if you have the HDD. And if you don't have one you should think of getting it. With the HDD you can save your games in it for some amazing advantages. The most important being not using the laser drive which will prolong the life of your system much more than that of a PS2 slim. The second advantage would be super fast loading times.

I have owned a fatty and two slims...Including the latest SCPH-90000 series slim which I just bought last week. I much prefer the slim myself. You should get one, it's a great console. Make sure you get a 90000 series model. It has no power brick and it's extremely shiny. :D

Keep your fat one. It's the rarer one anyway.

Keep it for the reasons other people have already mentioned. It can use the hard drive and other multitaps besides the one that was specially made for the slim PS2 which I have never seen in person...

Not to mention it feels alot more durable to me. I have stepped on my Playstation 2 and it only ended up injuring me. Something tells me that the slim PS2 might go the other way...

Keep the old PS2. I can conservatively estimate playing mine for over 8000 hours and it still runs perfectly, they just never seem to die. However I know other people that have owned PS2 slims that have broken in the first year they've owned them.

Doesn't the slim have less outlets for controllers than the fat?

My phat PS2 has 2 controller ports and all the slim models I have seen also have 2 as well as 2 memory card slots and 2 usb slots.

keep your fatty and just fork out the dough for a japanese slim so you can play imports, it costs the same as a new u.s. slim anyways.

Keep your fat one. The slim one overheats.
