Do you regularly trade in games/consoles?

i seem to read that alot of people just get a game, beat it once as fast as they can, then trade it in.

i never really understood how that can be fun, but to each his own.

see alot of talk about trading in consoles too.

me, i dont trade in anything. i keep all my games/consoles. never know when you will get the urge to play an older game.

Do you trade in games/consoles? why?

The last home console I traded in was my PS2. I rebought it about 3 months later(I couldn't do without Spiderman 2, the Punisher and Champions of Norrath after all), and realized selling my systems was a costly endeavour. I traded in my DSi for a brand new DS Lite just before 3DS hit. That was my last handheld trade in. I trade my games in every once in a while- usually when there's a "+$X for 3, +$X(2) for 4, +$X(3) for 5" or a trade in deal that's plus 25% or more. And even then I usually take a couple of days to try to decide what to part with that I don't expect to rebuy in the future.

I don't usually trade consoles in, but I'll trade a game in if I can't stand the thought of it sullying my collection with it's presence.

I really only trade in a game if I feel it's so bad that I got ripped off. Not only do I want to get some of my totally wasted investment back, but I'd like to deprive the publisher of a future purchase as my little thank you for putting out such a crappy game.

I never trade games in anymore. You never get anything for them. I rarely buy new releases so that's to be expected. The last time I asked about the price of a trade was for RE5 about a year after release. They offered me $3.50. I laughed in their face and left the shop laughing. If I want the game or console out of my home, I go to craig's list of kijiji.

depends if i think there's any chance that i'll want to play it again. if not, i trade it in. may as well get something for it instead of just having it take up space.

I used to be one of those types that balked at the idea of trading in games until I realized that I had a huge collection of games I had no intention of ever playing again. I've since parred it down to the gems and games that I couldnt give away if I tried.

I use to trade in my games and systems regularly before but now I just keep all the things I buy. It's nice having a big library of games even if I'll never go back and replay most of them.

I trade in games from time to time but only if it's a game I really didn't like. I keep everything else.

I usually never trade in games or consoles, but I did make an exception this past weekend, and traded in my old 360 pro (its just been sitting in the closet after I got the newer 360 s) to get my wife a Wii (used aswell). I took it to a mom and pop video game store and did a straight up trade. I also traded in some of my original xbox games to get credit so my wife could buy some games for her Wii.

I tend not to trade stuff in, but my old 360 was just sitting in the closet and was close to breaking down (the disc tray would take forever to open and the 360 was LOUD) so I decided to get rid of it before I couldn't do anything with it.

I never do anymore, after getting ripped by Gamestop. I traded in like 40-50 really old 360 games and they only gave me a couple hundred bucks.

I usually just sell them via Ebay or CL...but will occasionally trade to gamestop. But I have a few games that no matter how many time I play through them, I know Ill still want to llay them again sometime so I keep them.

If I ever do sell a game and want it again, Ill only buy it when I find it for the price I sold it for or less. Ex. buy a game for $50 sell for $25...if I want it again I wont buy it until its $25 or cheaper

Only trade in to Amazon if I can actually make some money from a game I found at a yardsale or thriftstore. Otherwise its Ebay or Craigslist.

If you aren't going to keep the game it is better to beat it asap and then post it on craigslist a few days after launch for like $5-10 below retail. Sold probably 2 dozen games this year and it's a lot more lucrative than getting like $15 worth of store credit on a game they are going to sell for $54.99.
