Why does EB have to stick a sticker with a barcode on used game's manuals? It's not like they're selling the manuals sepeartely.

Does any one know how I can get that ugly sticker off without damaging the manual?

Yeah, though i can't imagine who would steal a game manual :?

I got it off, though. Just some careful and painstaking peeling is all it takes

Sometimes they pull the paper art out of the case and put the barcode directly on that. I think it's so if you sell it back to them later they know it's already been sold as used once and then they can give you even less for it than they already would have.

At least I can't think of any other reason they'd want to intentionally damage their merchandise before asking me to pay for it.

i've done it before. at one of my local game shops, they sell 2 types of games: one that includes the manual for 2 extra dollars, or one that doesnt.
i was short a few dollars, so i "borrowed" the manual that was in the $17 dollar game, and put it in my pocket and paid for the $15 game.

As a collector, you can figure how much I hate anything with glue on its side. I never had any problem with EB stickers though: they come off nice and dandy. Guess the glue EB uses in the USA is different from the one they use here. Lucky us.

So then someone else will be left paying more for a game that they'd have to because the manual was taken.

I almost ran into one of those situations at a Best Buy. I was wondering why the box felt lighter than another I noticed the shrink-wrap was open, picked up another copy shrink-wrap on it was open too. Let one of the employees know, sure enough somebody stole the games and manuals.

Oh. Where I live, thjey keep the manuals with the discs, behind the counter, so customers can't steal them
