black ops is gripping that top sales slot with its whole self.

assassins creed: brotherhood's launch took a HUGE toll on game sales for the activisions big bad fps a staggering 15% of last weeks sales is what black ops scraped togeather this week.

the two almsot broke even at roughly 63k copies seperating the two.

thats a pretty wild set of weeks for activision and ubisoft.. heck of a 14 days indeed.

Edit: Poor Black Ops :(

Great sales for both Brotherhood and Black Ops, they deserve them.

Damn. That's a pretty significant chunk. Maybe people are finally starting to realize that Activision is feeding them the same game every year.

Guess it means the UK are more open to other games than shooters

15% is huge? (No, it's not). Great sales for both Brotherhood and Black Ops, they deserve them.IronBass

It dropped 85%....Only sold 15% of units compared to last week.

Ubisoft breaks Assasins creed sales record in the Uk for 1st week and doesnt beat COD:BLOPS despite a 85% fall what on earth where 1st week numbers?

That's the thing with the hype machine these days - the first week sees it flies off the shelf, then the following one it drops like a stone since they've already saturated the market.

This is how holiday season game releases work, period. Everyone that buys their own games grab the big ones right away; the rest wait to get them as Christmas presents. Now, I suppose a small chunk of the initial sales are squirreled away as presents, but most are going to wait as long as possble to either snag a used copy or find a sale. If a big sale occurs on Black Ops, that time period is going to see a signifcant upswing in sales numbers, I'd guess.

I agree. Same thing happened with many big titles.

At least the Uk gamers have a decent taste in games and aren't getting milked like sheeple, i came to this conclusion because black ops isn't at the top :D

Yeah. The game that sold more is only the third game in a series that's 4 years old. That's definitive proof that there are no sheeple in the UK.

It is at the top. If you clicked on the link, you'd see that even with the drop in sales, Black Ops still topped the chart. AC came in second.

Of course the units sold for Black Ops are going to decline. What did you expect? It will continue to sell well into Christmas and even after. When Dead Space 2 comes out, it will be a different story.. and the next major game after that... and after that one... HUGE year in 2011. Expect to be overwhelmed.

Yeah, at least AC is fresher every year.
