Ever since project Dolphin ( later to become Gamecube) was annouced back in 1999, I had always been thinking what it would be like to get a "next generation" sequel to Ocarina of Time. Unlike others, I loved Majora's Mask, but it was more of the same presentation-wise. Even though I really loved Wind Waker, it wasn't really what I had in mind. Therefore when they finally announced Twilight Princess, I was happy that the system would get what I actually had desired for so long.
Metriod Prime was awesome. Resident Evil 4 blew me away. But these were pleasant surprises. The real reason I got into the Gamecube in the first place was for Twilight Princess. I may have had to wait for 7 years, but I finally got what I wanted, and it still surpassed my expectations. Amazing. So for me, Twilight Princess is the game of the Gamecube.
I know it's also on Wii, but as far as that's concerned, I look at that as a Gamecube port. Nothing more.
the legend of zelda the wind waker is #1 because it is an amazing zelda games with fun and rewarding dungeons and when u get on ur boat and sail and explore it is just fun. i think 2nd place would have to go to Smash Bros cause that game was just fun to play with anyone
my top 5
1) Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker
2) Metroid Prime
3) Tales of Symphonia(might have spelled that wrong don't kill me)
4) Super Smash bros. melee
5) Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
i have TWW first becuase i loved how large the games world was. i greatly enjoyed going to and exploring all the different islands. and i don't feel like explaining myself for the other 4 games. and i don't have RE4 on this becuase i only just got it a few days ago........
Metroid Prime is the obvious choice for me. The best game ever made, quite simply. Graphics, audio, level design, controls and gameplay are all simply amazing. I've never played a better game.
Contenders: Baten Kaitos, Wind Waker, Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Pikmin 2, Super Smash Bros., Tales of Symphonia, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
The 'Cube had some damn fine games. It's a shame to see it go.
I'd say Soul Calibu 2 actually.Because it was damn good, balanced, very deep and multiplayer friendly game.It has awesome visuals (on gamecube) and playing the game on gamecube controller feels a lot better than ps2 controller.I have duelled with my friends countless times plus I beated the games single player missions and extra missions without even a little boredom.
I would skip Re4 and Mp.Because I have never played Re4 and never could have gotten ino Mp games.
Wow. This question is actually more trouble to answer than I thought.
At first, I was going to say Tales of Symphonia, because of my countless gameplay hours on it, but then I changed my mind. ToS just doesn't retain it's "Nintendo" stamp quite as well as Metroid Prime, as mentioned numerous times in this topic. In the same league as MP are Super Mario Sunshine, RE4, and SSBM.
Taking it to the lower level, in comes games like ToS, Wind Waker, and Pikmin.
I'd also like to mention Gladius for being an incredible strategy game with a slew of RPG elements. Sadly, it's not fitting for the Gamecube's throne because it was released for XBOX and PS2 as well.
Polls like these are always going to favour the adventure game because they are so epic and full of characterisation and variety. Thus the perfectly formed Luigi's Mansion and 1080 Avalanche will not win no matter how beautiful they are. But I am still going to vote for an epic adventure and one with little characterisation: Metroid Prime. I wouldn't place the sequel even in my top 10 Cube games but the first game was a masterpiece of level design, mood, sound and the animation of the morph was sublime.
Special mention to the Resident Evil remake (I am much fonder of it than RE4), Paper Mario:TTYD, Beyond good and evil and The Wind Waker.
I've played super smash bros. melee and liked the game very much, and me and my brother played it a lot with the characters siegfreed and roy, we played for a long time and till we got good at the game and then we played nesses level and then it got fun!, i wish we had that game.jdwollmannwtf? sigfreid and roy?
Now that the Gamecube's era has ended,They r still makin gc games so its era hasnt ended! But Mario Kart Double Dash would be mine, ive been a mario kart fan for a loong time!
Think back...
If the gamecube were to have one game as the overall best game ever for the cube, what would it be? Also, state your reasons.
