I've always been partial to the silent protagonists (Ness, Link, Crono, etc.).

Mario,Sonic,Link,Yoshi Ryu from Street Fighter,Samus

Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Link, Marina, and alot of the charaters from Majora's Mask.

Jak. Hands-down my favorite PS2 hero ever. Oh, and Daxter was kewl too.
