The GTA series,and the Elder Scrolls series,just for the sheer amount of available things to do,and the fact that I always feel like i get my moneys worth,from time spent and replay value.
I'm terribly sorry, but I can't single out one gaming franchise. But these are my favourites:
Ratchet & Clank Killzone God of War Resistance Devil May Cry Final Fantasy Tekken Kingdom Hearts Prince of Persia Metal Gear Sly Cooper Jak & Daxter Resident Evil Street Fighter Call of Duty Mortal Kombat Guitar Hero
Don't really have one, but if i had to i'd pick Zelda. Enough rpg elements to make it deep, and enough action to keep the fun. It's also one of the consistently highest quality and polished franchises ever made. others: Mario GTA Mass Effect (as long sa the sequel holds up). SSX for sports... Maybe fifa Metroid
