i dont really like EA, they make good games but there kinda cheap. u can tell just by the crappy black and white instruction manuals. theire games can be much better graphicswize if they tried. my fav game of them is burnout, but i still dont like the developers. seems liek there only in it for the moenypeypan
EA is more of a publisher then a developer.
You got it backwards. The developers are NOT to blame. They just follow their bosses instructions. (The Publisher is EA itself) EA is the world's largest publisher for games. You are not alone on your thoughts, but the problem is the mis conception of, "it's the guy's fault cuz he made it" is dead wrong.
It's like this, I give you a 1 year deadline to make another need for speed. You got a large team of 60 people. They will work 8 hours a day for the first 6 months. After that you have to work 12 hours a day. I don't care about your family problems ok? You will work fo rme 12 hours a day or you are fired.
That is how EA works. Families had to support some of the developers so they actually filed suit and got their paid overtime. Look in google. EA is not new to contraversy.
With that said EA has improved but can still improve even more. Like you said you want color manuals. Then tell them so. http://www.ea.com Scroll to bottom and find contact form.
In conclusion do NOT blame the developers. They are given strict deadlines by the industry. Blame EA for not holding games longer than they should be so that the costs of developing them are minimized. Keep in mind games the big one's take millions of dollars to make now.
Probably Ubisoft and Microsoft.
Ubisoft's games on PC for the past couple of years have either been packed with malware like Starforce or Buggy as hell, and unless its the Xbox or 360 platform their games have been sloppy second hand ports consistantly on all other platforms. They are just as bad as any other developer when it comes to milking their Tom Clancey franchises annually, meanwhile Beyond Good & Evil rots somewhere. They release games from a couple of years ago, slap a new subname on it, and try to charge full price....this is their policy of "supporting" the Wii. Their support, especially with PC games is utterly horrible....even to the point of a case where they're "solution" for game stopping bugs has been to direct consumers to a user-made patch that isn't even gauranteed to work. People bag on EA, but if you ask me, Ubisoft is no different, probably even the worst of the two....at least with an EA I never heard of anyones hardware being infected with Starforce like they did with Ubisoft. Like I said, unless you're an Xbox or 360 gamer, in the past couple of years Ubisoft has equaled little more then shallow second hand ports, buggy games, and malware.
Microsoft....where to even begin. They've used their finances to try to bully other developers and even smaller publishing houses. They've released buggy games. They've kept developers from releasing patches or free content so they could charge for it. They pretty much pushed the horrible idea of Microtransactions. Their PR and lame Rhetoric is second only to Sony for being the lamest in the industry. They took one of the greatest RPG franchises thats fans had been waiting for and turned it into yet another shooter. They try to make their upcoming PC games Vista exclusive, including a 3 year old port at full price in a lame attempt to push their unoptimized OS on customers. Live! on PC is an absolute joke, and they've tried to force their agenda on other developers and consumers...luckily many big time PC developers like Valve, Epic, and Blizzard see it for the joke it is.....and all that is just skimming the surface.
