Very excellent news - Rez and Ikaruga announced for the 360

Rez and Ikaruga with achievements and leaderboards is unbeatable. Hopefully E4 comes out of it's hiding place soon, like next week.

Big shaft to the Wii with Rez, I don't see why they wouldn't do a straight port of it though.

For me, Rez is pretty much one of those titles that I view as perfect, or near perfect, in design. When I finally land my hands on a 360, Rez will probably be one of the things I get right off the bat.Skylock00

I'm another person who hasn't played those games either. Being a fan of both shoot 'em ups and Treasure games in general I'm very pumped to get Ikaruga but Rez gets it's fair share of praise as well so I can't wait to check that game out too.Archangel3371

:lol: Yeah I do enjoy my XBLA games, and to think there are still a good deal that are available that I want to get as well.

Yeah I still need to get that Zombie Genocider and a few more achievements for Dead Rising. Isn't that one only worth 20 points though? Now that's madness.

EDIT: You want to know who is hardcore impressive though, Shameus_Blackley. That guy's a machine when it comes to grabbing every achievement out of a game.

It's kind of hard to understand what's going on in Ikaruga without having played it. Like kfjl says, it's not as easy as they make it look. For those of you who have played Ikaruga, take a look at this video, I'm sure you will enjoy this video as it's almost unbelievable. Talk about ambidexterity!!!

You're no slouch yourself, although I just got the 800k achievement in Streets of Rage 2. Man, what a pain in the butt that was. But the game is so awesome that I didn't care.

It's gonna take me a while to catch you in Lost Planet, though. Extreme mode is soooo hard. There also aren't many people playing it online these days, so I better try to knock those out before Halo and COD4 hit.

Ikaruga is viciously difficult, but is the best SHMUP of the last decade, and would probably still be the best even if there was competition.

Rez is a classic. Very original, very trippy, it's a zen game. It would be a great game to play at 4:20 or 10pm or whenever, if you know what I mean. Panzer Dragoon Orta is the closest thing gameplay wise (also another great game btw), but the visuals in Rez are something else.

IKARUGA!!! DUDE! This was one of the best reasons to own a GameCube! I have a GCN copy, so is it worth it to buy on XBLA? Hell yeah it is! It's not just awesome because it's hard, it's awesome because it's so elegant. The combo system. The polarity swapping. The pattern memorization and the twitch gameplay. Ahhh... I don't know exactly which games register as my all-time faves, but Ikaruga is one of them. Top ten, easy. Maybe even top five.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, who's posted in this thread should get Ikaruga. Twice.

EDIT: May I pound my chest a little? My gamerscore isn't that high, but I recently picked up the "Seriously..." achievement for Gears of War. 10,000 ranked kills, people. Ten thousand.Fear me.

Ikaruga is one of my all time favorite games, do yourself a favor and buy it right when it comes out. It's a flawlessly designed game. And if you want a challenge then try and beat my Prototype score. ;) Dang, Treasure's support for the 360 is seriously making me want to buy one, but I can't afford it right now. Now all we need is Radiant Silvergun. Better than Ikaruga I hear.ASK_Story

Radiant Silvergun is an incredible game. Without perfect Saturn emulation, (which was one confusinglycomplicated system) I doubt we'll ever see it again since a huge part of the game mechanics invlove causing slowdown by intentionally causing as much havok as possible.
