In this year and ever
My crown of dislike this year goes to Destiny 2. Sweet baby jaysus what a braindead, boring, money milking, grindy, soulless piece of crap game. Got it for free and I'm still angry.
Ever? Possibly Dragon's Lair for the NES. Never been so furious with a game ever, lol.
Hates a strong word for something I would simply dub as having bad game design.
Little Big Planet 3 was the last time I bought a product that was generally bad in almost every way. Whether one liked the previous games or new_ doesn't change that LBP3 gimmicks not only broke the LBP2 engine to questionable levels, it's also very shallow even when playable.
I don't like RPG games at all, elfs & wizards etc etc leave me cold. I never got why Final Fantasy was so popular with its weird characters and turn based game play, a 20 minute fight just isn't my idea of fun.
reminds me of this very old trailer

This one is easy COD4 it's influence dumbed down great games and started the hand holding generation.
I would not say hate, but I dislike any FPS game (apart from Portal, because it was more of a puzzle solving game than shooter) in general. Buuut, as a child, I remember not hating, but being scared to play Abbes Oddysey on PS1 for some reason to a point that I even started to cry for some reason... :D
Inb4 the usual Ghost post:
"I hate Witcher 3, Mass Effect, Halo, GoW... basically every game that is universally praised and everyone likes". Lol.
Anyway, I don't think I "hate" any games... I mean there are plenty of games I'm not interested in or don't enjoy, but I don't necessarily hate them.

Yea, Oblivion was a huge culprit of this too and looked at as a big symbol of the dumbing down in regards to the RPG genre.
As far as things I hate....MP and movie games.
Tried heavy rain so many times but the motion controls do my head in. Maybe if they never had them it would be ok story wise but the motion controls spoil the game for me.
This year? I'd have to say Destiny 2. Yeah I know it's a late 2017 release but it was new to me this year. I just...I don't know, I feel I gave it a pretty generous opportunity and I just don't understand why it is so popular other than the fact that it is really subtle, just-cheap-enough gambling mechanic of "insert time: receive reward".
Of all time? Hmmm. That's a tough one. Maybe Godus? Not because it's an inherently bad game (it is unfinished, though, and appears to be destined to remain that way), but because it represents everything bad about the industry; why we can't trust crowd-funding, why great game designers don't necessarily make great business owners, why we shouldn't get hyped over undelivered products, and so on. I was enjoying the development of Godus for some time, but then they started going in a different direction, then nothing happened for a while, then...yeah.
I don't really "hate" bad games. They're just bad and, well, I regret buying them, but that's my mistake. I do hate Godus, though. And Peter Molyneux can take a long walk off a short pier for all I care; if for any reason he starts another game, for the love of god, BOYCOTT IT!
I decided to split it apart with two major categories: Big developers and indie ones.
Big developers:
There's only one: Final Fantasy XV. It committed too many cardinal sins for an FF game. Crappy one-button hack-and-slash gameplay, milked for DLCs, no permanent playable female characters, big open world that mostly emptiness, crappy driving, most budget spent on graphics than anything else, style over substance, shipped at unfinished state, and list could go on. You can blame me for being a Persona fanboy but if entire SMT games(not just Persona), Legend of Heroes, Grandia, Suikoden and many other JRPGs don't exist, FFXV is still a huge, huge disappointment. While its director, Tabata left Square-Enix not too long ago and some of its DLCs have been cancelled, SE will continue to milk this game for many years to come.
Indie developers
Hatred and and more accurately its developer itself DestructiveCreations. It's a shitty insensitive far-right propaganda made by racist, far-right neo-nazis. Don't get me wrong as I have NOTHING against its theme as I also enjoyed amoral games like GTA, Saints' Row, Hitman, etc but either DC tried too hard to be "evil" or the game itself just a "fundraising campaign" for neo-nazi groups. It had been revealed that DC is in fact have links to many neo-nazi groups all over Europe. Ironically DC itself based on Poland, a country was razed by real nazis less than a century ago and these losers are worshiping them, quite literally. Sadly people are buying from them in hope to fund their favorite hate groups. Expect DC to make more racist far right white supremacist craps for many years to come.
While I don't know whether Yandere Simulator qualified as a "video game" or not but if it is then let me continue. I have so many reasons to hate this it but I keep it short and write the most important part of this "game", you play as underage high school girl to murder other underage high school girls. There have been to many underage boys and girls murdered within campus walls in real-life and why we need to romanticize it? Heck even its "developer" Yanderedev@Eva@Alex or whatever the hell he want to call himself as is a shitty developer at best and he also a thief as he stole countless of assets and claimed them as his own. Last time I checked his Patreon page he got nearly 5k dollars. That's tiny in comparison to many other Patreon game developers but still more than what an average upper middle class people can earn in a month. He even got more money in the kickstarter page. The "game" was available to the public in 2014 and as of 2018 it still in pre-alpha stage even the "developer" promised an open beta version of the "game" and as of Christmas 2018, nothing ever heard of it. He also promised the "game" will be completed in 2019 and of course, he's a liar and don't even expect to see it in 2022 either. Sadly many of the "game's" fans are pubescent girls age 12-14 who saw themselves as edgy as Yuno Gasai from Mirai Nikki and fortunately most of them turn on the "game" and its "developer" as they grew up. I wish that the "developer" is actually a scammer and will disappear someday along with the money he made for years.
Games that have too fanatic fanboys.
You know, the kinda fanboys that do not admit the game to have a single fault.
I mean every game has its faults, and sane fanboys admit this. But there are games where fanboys are so insane they simply go nuts if you point a single fault in said game.
I just avoid such games because I just dont want to deal with nutty fanboys.
Hate? None. Frustrating? A few. For example, when I played vanilla STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, Colonel Petrenko is a major NPC who is the only trader in the Duty faction where I can buy weapons, unique ammo, and supplies from. He's not supposed to die. Yet, here he is as a corpse. ;) Now there's no one at the Duty store. Glitchy code. Grrrr.
