I had the N64 versions...but yeah, I thought they were great - much better than the Twisted Metal titles at the time, IMO.
I remember playing V8 the first time on PlayStation. I thought it was almost as good as Twisted Metal 2, almost. It was FAR better than Critical Depth, Rogue Trip, TM 3, 4, or Small Brawl.
I ended up owning the game on N64, because it had the exclusive level. I still own V82O on Sega Dreamcast - one of the best parts of it is the inclusion of all the levels from the first game.
If you get a chance, I recommend checking out V8 Arcade on Xbox Live Arcade.
A friend downloaded it and I had a shot but nothing beats beats getting out the old Playstation controllers and playing a bit of Convoy or Houston or Beeswax lol, kicking some ass! P.S. I also had Rogue Trip, and wow that was terrible.I remember playing V8 the first time on PlayStation. I thought it was almost as good as Twisted Metal 2, almost. I had its predecessor (I think) Interstate '72 I think it was. Was about 12 years ago now so can't remember much, but through rose tinted goggles I thought it was a good game.rastaman219Interstate '76 for the PC - there was also a sequel - Interstate '82 - which became a really nice mod for Battlefield 1942 - called Battlefield 1982.
It's cool a lot of people had them on the N64, I had totally forgotten about that. I was a purely Playstation child as my parents didn't understand that all consoles were not the same things lol. I did get a nice loan of a N64 now and then or played at other people's houses so I wasn't completely devoid of its glory!
