32X, because it would complete my Sega Voltron, lol. I already have the Genesis itself, the Sega CD, and the Power Base Converter, all I need now is the 32X to form the head!
That, and 32X doesn't give me headaches, Virtual Boy does.
the 32X is horrible?
I would pick the 32X, more games that I would want, and the other issue is that the Virtual Boy wasn't even released here , meaning I would have to import one from the US (or see if any UK based websites sell them as imports) , which would be cumbersome and expensive.
Actually the 32X wasn't that bad just the games weren't very good. But the Virtual Boy would be better off as a new version of the Game Boy rather than a standalone console.
I'd buy a 32X because Virtua Racing Deluxe >>> entire VB library. :P 3D gaming also make my eyes and head hurt. :(ChrisMichaeIsVRDeluxe is certainly a better game then the Mega Drive version. Virtua Fighter is also a game to get for the 32X since the Saturn version is......well , the less said the better.
since theres a better versionof vb out-3ds that doesnt give headaches and has awsome games id get a 32x
Yeah, I have the 32X,Sega CD, with the power base. I have the second generation Genesis, so it is a bit skinnier, and it sits neatly beside the top loading Sega CD. I actually like the other version of the Sega CD better though. The one that sits under the Genesis. ++++32X > Virtual Boy++++32X, because it would complete my Sega Voltron, lol. ask the angry video game nerd, he hates both.Gam3r29I prefer the reviews of the guy from ClassicGameRoom. He seems to have a lot more knowledge and is a lot easier to listen to then the angry video game nerd. imo anyways.
If you had to choose 1 of these horrible systems which would it be & why?Tony-Baxter
Just found my Genesis, AND my 32x, so I guess you know which side I dress to... And obviously, I have it for "DOOM 32x", "Virtua Fighter", and "Virtua Racing". Also in the box with said hardware was my PS1 "Konami Arcade Classics" with TIME PILOT!!!! Hurray for house-cleaning!!!

Saturn version was better. The 32X one looks very blocky.
I did buy the 32x -I liked Doom, Star Wars, and Virtua Racing There is nothing I liked about the VBrawsavon
I actually wanted a 32X (which is called the Mega 32X here) , but its pretty expensive, ive seen consoles going for £80-120 , and the European ones in particular are rarer.
and as far as I know, I can't use a US 32X with my PAL Mega Drive .

They ended up being very cheap soon after launch hereI had a model 1 genesis on top of a model 1 sega cd + I had to use these little metal clamps to attach the 32x (b/c I had an 'old' genesis model)
...not the best design choice LOL

trust me on this one, I have Saturn VF1, it is closer to the arcade visually , but its also got some major slowdown , and alot of flicker with the arena and characters flickering. considering the Saturn was quite a bit more capable then the model 1 (just see Virtua Fighter Remix) , its a bit shameful on Sega's part to even release the game in that state. the 32X vesion is blocier, the shading is worse and the music is nowhere near as good the Saturn or arcade, but at least its fast.[QUOTE="Darkman2007"]

I think Sega went downhill after the Mega Drive in general. They had too many consoles on the market and hard competition from Sony and Nintendo so they were basically pushed out of the console market. The DC was also practically dead when the PS2 launched with barely any game choice in game stores and super markets.
well Ive got a model 2 Mega Drive and model 2 Mega CD so I should have no problems, or at least less of them[QUOTE="Darkman2007"][QUOTE="rawsavon"] They ended up being very cheap soon after launch here

it certainly is more attractive and more compact, but the main issue is the mechanised CD tray, you know as well as I do , those things are more prone to breakig then a simple spring loaded door like on the model 2. this is also one of the reasons I bought an FZ-10 3DO as opposed to the FZ-1

well in terms of game quality I think it actually improved after the Mega Drive, but its true their business strategy sucked. I personally feel they should not have released the 32X and just focused on the Saturn , also games like Knuckles Chaotix , Doom and Virtua Racing would have made great Saturn launch games as long as there were some graphical improvements (a few textures in VR wouldnt hurt, or better animation and backgrounds in kunckles Chaotix)[QUOTE="rawsavon"]

I never get any issues like the thing works just fine.
Is yours like mine (sit under the genesis)? no no , mine is the model 2 , which probably explains why it still works.[QUOTE="Darkman2007"]I never get any issues like the thing works just fine.

the same goes for the 3DO , I have the FZ10 , which isnt really as good looking as the front loading FZ-1 , but I would think it works better.
only 2 consoles I own give me issues. the PS2 I have (one of the older 3000 series PS2s) and my Master System , which has some issues with recognising cartridges, forcing me to keep on reinserting the cartridge until the thing decides it wants to work.

from what I hear, the goldstar 3DO is well known to have various issues with it compared to the Panasonic FZ1 and FZ10

i dont think you could pay me to own a Virtual Boy. On the other hand I got the 32x for christmas in 94. I actually liked it a lot, back then, and it's ok sometimes now. I played Virtua Racing and StarWars Arcade to death as a kid, because I couldnt find any other 32x games and I didnt't have the money to get an SNES or Saturn. But over a few years (2008 - 2010) i finally got used copies of Doom, Shadow Squadron, Metal Head, Kolibri, NBA Jam TE, Toughman contest and WWF Wrestling.
Virtual boy is the only console (portable?) that I can think of has even fewer good games. That horrible black and red screen.....makes your head just spin and want to throw the contraption out the window or onto the ground. VB = epic failure, 32x should have just come out a year earlier and got more quality games.
Ironically the Virtual Boy sold better than the 32X :P
But I also think it failed and would be better off as a new version of the Game Boy (Wario Land VB wasn't shabby).
the Virtual Boy sold better because it says Nintendo on it the other issue for the 32X is that you had to have a Mega Drive, and not everybody had that.Ironically the Virtual Boy sold better than the 32X :P

of course, but you can't deny people are more likely to buy a product simply because it says Nintendo on it. thats why people buy consoles at launch or even pre order it beforehand Maybe so, or even the majority, but I never fit into that category for some reason. I was always attracted to Sega machines vs Nintendo's . I never owned a NES or SNES when I was younger, it was the Genesis/Saturn for me. My best friend growing up had most of Nintendo's systems, so I would just go over there to play the latest Nintendo offerings. I did get a N64 later on and I did like it rather well. We all know that Nintendo will always seem to sell their major franchises like Mario/Zelda/Metroid, and there is no doubt that it helps move their consoles. I couldn't imagine how well they would sell if their first party games were few and between.[QUOTE="nameless12345"][QUOTE="Darkman2007"] of course, but you can't deny people are more likely to buy a product simply because it says Nintendo on it. thats why people buy consoles at launch or even pre order it beforehandDarkman2007

and during the mid-late 80s. NIntendo was selling several times the amount of NES consoles as Sega was selling the SMS. there is no way around it, Nintendo was just better known in the US. that doesn't mean people won't buy a Sega system , heck Sony outsold Nintendo and Sega despite having no gaming reputation , so wtih good marketing , you can get people to like you. and you know yourself the Mega Drive had excellent marketing in the US.Please Log In to post.
