Scwing!

All five titles are available now.

Virtual Console European Releases, September 7

SEGA Mega Drive -800 Wii Points

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (1994)
Ghouls 'n Ghosts (1989)
Shining in the Darkness (1991)
ESWAT: City Under Siege (1990)
Crack Down (1990)

First is Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the game that introduced the charming and personable Knuckles the Echidna to the world.
Next up, is Ghouls 'n Ghosts - which isn't to be confused with Ghouls 'n Goblins. Why mustn't it be confused? Well, although it does feature Arthur the Knight battling against hordes of the undead, it has a number of gameplay refinements.

If you prefer your action turn-based, perhaps take a gander at dungeon-crawling RPG Shining in the Darkness. Playing as a brave knight, you fight your way through 3D dungeons battling wizards and other assorted nasties.

ESWAT: City Under Siege, features a cyber cop with a thirst for justice. You're armed with a range of weapons - rocket launchers, laser guns and so on - and must take down the punks plaguing the city.

ESWAT=boxart

Finally, there's is Crack Down - not to be confused with the Xbox 360 game. Instead, it's a top-down action title that plays a little like the ****c Gauntlet but with bombs and guns, rather than swords and spells.

Sonic 3 is often frowned upon because it is the game the introduced Knuckles, however, I still thought it was a damn good game for its time...Anyway, I think Leo is gonna be bummed he didn't get to this thread, but I guess you're more entitled being that it is a Euro release :P

:x

WHAT THE HECK IS THIS ? ! ? :x

A non-Phantom_Leo Virtual Console Topic ? ! ? :x

...and who the heck turned those European servers back on ? ! ? :x

They aren't supposed to get ANY new games and CERTAINLY not games like E-Swat and Sonic 3 BEFORE the U.S. ! ! ! :x

Iwata is gonna get a stern talking to for this one ! ! ! :x

...

...

Alright, I admit it: I'm not angry... I just like having an opportunity to use this smiley ( :x )... It just looks like he is having a hard time taking a poo!

Anyone can post anything on VC games they want! I'm just happy all the games of my youth are getting revived now! It's like I stepped into a 20-year-ago time-machine!

I've been a busy boy all on my own anyway! Check out my new VC ratings in my blog!

I got the U.S. covered for the V.C. releases, GG is more than welcome to the rest of the world! :P

( Once more for the heck of it... :x *Tee-hee!* )

Er, the first one was called GHOSTS 'n' Goblins, I think. Leo would never have made that kind of mistake :-P

Shhh...! Don't tell him that! We don't want to discourage him... or, more importantly, piss him off! I wouldn't have posted arcade pictures of E-Swat either, but hey... what can I say... Rookie!

Oh. Damn. Sorry GG. :P Hug?

I remember playing E-Swat at the arcades. Games like that one (and the original Robocop) weren't my thing, really. I would always get stuck at the third or fourth stage, and then freak out. I marveled at guys who beat them with one token.

Anyone remember the arcade version of Ninja Gaiden? The one with the tiny button at the top of the joystick? I hated that one too.

SERIOUSLY HOW MUCH LONGER ARE WE GOING TO FACE THE STY-LE AND CLA-SS GLITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, I thought Knuckles was the newest Sonic character people still liked. It only got really bad with the Adventure games I thought.

I liked Eswat so much back in the day, that I wrote a big story around the idea back in 5th grade. I wonder how it holds up these days.

Yes! I remember this game was very tight, GME wants to see not only this released on the VC but a movie made on it as well! And then a next gen game about that movie! Aliens vs Predators? Pffffffft. Robocop vs Terminator FTW!

There's still people around using IE. My god there must be moremasochist than i thought. If you don't like Firefox there's Opera 9 and Safari 3 is coming to windows.

BTW i know the link cannot be displayed because a word has be censored and not because IE sucks. But IE still sucks.

I use Internet Explorer too. I use it because it is the most compatible web browser. I've had a lot of problems using Opera and FireFox in the past, so I stopped using them for the most part. Besides, IE 7.0 is far better than IE 6.0 was. :)

Hmm, I never played ESWAT. I'll have to check it out when it comes out in the U.S.

Nope. Ghouls 'n Ghosts on Genesis/Mega Drive is a port of the original arcade game. Super Ghouls'n Ghosts is really more of a sequel to the original. It shares the same storyline and similar enviroments, but the levels layouts are completely different. Super GnG is also a ton harder.

I loved ESWAT as a kid. I haven't thought about that game in years. Looks like I've found another must have VC game.
