I just want to know if I'm literally the only person who likes the original DOOM more on ps1 :P Everybody tells me the one on PC is miles better than the one that was brought out on the PS1 so I've started thinking the only reason I like it more is just because it's the one I grew up with and that always tends to make you a little biased. I just always preferred the atmospheric music over the classic DOOM tune (don't get me wrong, I love that tune it just doesn't exactly make the game more 'tense'). Also just the general sound effects of the monsters and guns were much improved upon. A lot of people believe the PC version looked better as well but I always personally proffered the textures in the PS1 version. Anyway I just want to hear some other peoples opinions because so far it's ALL been "PC version better"

I prefer the PC version for the same reason you like the PS1 better, it's what I grew up with. I spent many nights during my middle-school years playing the crap out of that game inside and out. I know it's pretty much the same game but it's the little things that make the difference, like the music that you mentioned for example. Also, I remember there was a couple levels that they modified for the PS1 version (I'm guessing it's most likely because the system couldn't support the original designs), and the results were not that great.

Yeah your right there. I think they added a few extra levels to make up for the ones they had to take out but the biggest gripe I have would have to be the fact that the PS1 version didn't have the icon of sin in it :( The end boss in Final DOOM was just another cyber demon :/ All of the cool secret levels were missing too like the wolfenstein one. They weren't able to include the arch-vile monster either but I'm not sure if that's a bad thing XD I could NEVER escape it's fire attack in the PC version
