There are two Mass Effect novels that are pretty good if you liked the game. The first one explains more about Saren and Capt Anderson and the second one is supposed to lead into Mass Effect 2 and shows how evil and large the Cerebus Organization really is. I'm reading the Dragon Age novel now but I don't know if it's because I haven't experienced the world yet that i don't find it that interesting.

I will second smerlus. The two Mass Effect novels are fantastic. If you're looking into something fantasy based though, two of the Witcher novels were just translated into English recently (The Last Wish and Blood of the Elves). A game based on a book; how about that?

Star Wars: Republic Commando. The book series is based off the game of the same name, and they're really good. They really delve into the clone troopers and Mandalorian culture.

Indeed. I would suggest the Horus Heresy series as a good place to start. Although if you are not into a lot of blood and gore in your books I would stay away from these as a whole.

The Splinter Cell novels are by far my favorite.

Considering the fact the only game related novel I've ever read was the Army of Two graphic novel, it's the only one I can recommend. It's pretty good - definitely the best graphic novel I've read. It's called 'Dirty Money'.

Their not based off games but most Matthew Reilly novels are action packed sci-fi adventures
