Syphon Filter, going from consoles to the PSP (and having PS2 ports) to vanishing and fading away for years and years and years. I noticed no new news, no websites, no hints to a new entry? Do you think that games like Splinter Cell Conviction and MGS4 were just so much more successful stealth games that maybe they think bringing back Syphon Filter would end up being a risk? Do you think they killed the Syphon Filter franchise? Will it come back? What do you think? Personally, I had some good times with the series, terribly underrated and they never really threw money around for good press either, and not doing that led to it loosing popularity until Dark Mirror came out, and although Logans Shadow was the latest game (PSP-PS2) it kind of dived off the radar. I hope a new one is made.

Rumours of the PS3 entry have been circulated for years and years. My guess is Sony shifted it to the PS4 or it's been 8 Day'zd if it ever did exist. They were among the best PS1 & PSP games I played so I'd love a new one as long as competitive multiplayer doesn't dominate their focus.

When they moved from 3 to Omega strain on the ps2, the game felt exactly like a syphon filter game. Which was the issue, it felt like it should have been controlled with the d buttons instead of the joystick, which kind of ruined it.

I've heard rumors about it, but that's about it. Most likely the developers moved on, and Sony probably doesn't see a profit in making another one. I'm also hoping one will be released, but I'm not counting on it.

The developers behind Syphon Filter made the Uncharted Vita game. I thought the original Syphon Filter was really fun (one of my fondest memories is taking out terrorists standing over hostages with a sniper rifle), but I didn't like the SF2 and skipped all the rest of the console games (the demos and the reviews indicated the series wasn't improving).

But Dark Mirror was really brilliant. I loved how you could sneak through a mission by either evading guards or killing them before they could raise an alarm but once guards saw you, they didn't forget you, you had to shoot your way through the rest of the mission.

And Logan's Shadow generally improved on Dark Mirror, though I was disappointed the violence was toned down in order to get a T rating.

Logan's Shadow was my absolute favorite PSP game (though I've yet to play Dark Mirror) and since the ending which I won't spoil, I've been eagerly awaiting a sequel or even news. I got rather attached to the Logan character over my several playthroughs and the game never got boring. Rather impressive. It looked fantastic, played fantastic, had a GREAT online multiplayer while it lasted, had insane amounts of bonus content, a rocking OST that I still listen to to this day and every time I played there were new things I was finding. I do believe it got rather close to a perfect game in my eyes, NOT perfect no, but it got close.

I hope not. Ever since Logan's Shadow I've been waiting for a sequel. Hopefully it happens next. If not, then maybe they can at least get to work on a new ip of their own.

It certainly look like it has been killed, or at least put on hiatus. I was hoping to see that they might make a new title for the PS Vita, or perhaps use the character in the Playstation All Stars Battle Royale title. But, there just hasn't been anything of note. And unfortunately that might always be the case. Syphon Filter was more of a PS1 era series, it's quite generic by today's standards.

I am surprised that Syphon Filter hasn't appeared yet on the Playstation 3. Since the series has appeared on Playstation, Playstation 2 and PSP. I would have thought that by now a PS3 Syphon Filter game would have been made by now. Sony hasn't stated that the series is done. So there is still time since we are in year 6 of PS3. So another 4 years to go and there is still time for a new installment on the PS3.
