We are making some video games. We have a story. Its in the future. World War 4 is going on and in the middle aliens start attacking and start killing all Humans. Thats the Plot. We need some weapon names, Game-play, You see we are trying to make a Video Game that people will all like.
If that does not work out we have another idea When you die you must run away from the darkness fallowing you and reach the light. You come back to life because you make it some how and no one else can. You get on your feet and you were shot to death. Then all of your teammates look at you strange because your dead and now just getting up. Now You have powers such as teliknessess and force push that kind of stuff. Your now also a choosen one from God himself. This angel tells you your true history later in the game and is on your side thourgh the game. (She is in your mind). Aliens and other aliens are killing everyone later in the game. Because The aliens attacking you in the begging are running away from the other aliens called Centurians.
Creatures are also in the game. Its 3rd person.You can use any object and use tellkineses, hold the opbject and throw it down for cover. You can make your own armor and person if you want. A map editor also. The locations are around the whole world. In New york you must run from BILLIONS of the creatures cralling on the skyscrapers, buldings and on foot. the creatures whole army is after your team. and your running thourgh the streets taking cover and killing running. The sky and every thing is like sand.
Like i was saying in the begging you get up from death and just start shooting down planes and killing there army and wasting them all. Thats the other story.

I can assure you that if this is the extent of your design, your project is going to go nowhere. Randomly throwing together someone who can code, someone who does some art, and someone with "ideas" never results in a game.
We (I) helped make Gears and Bioshock, me and some other people are starting to make our own company.

I'm not sure what third party contractors were used for those games, but nothing related to the core development would have been contracted out. If it had, and you had actually been involved (which I doubt, but I suppose you could have been part of the quality assurance team), you would know how shaky a basis your proposition is for any development getting done.
Thats a retarded idea for a plot, C&C 3 has the exact same thing happen while GDI and NOD are fighting and aliens come into the battle.Old_Gooseberry

Anyway. I agree that there should be more concentration on the gameplay and characters as opposed to the graphics. Look at Assassin's Creed. Looks great. Boring as crap.
make the lead character a general in the alien army that at various points in the story gets shafted by his supiorers, plus for once people can play as a badass bad guy!
this is never going to happene. be realistic for god's sake. you are not going to make some game where you are running from billions of creatures. nor is your idea orginal, exciting or innovative. whos going to make it and how.
Not to sound rude or anything but it seems like I've heard that plot before. Oh yeah in like almost every game. I love how you send it into the future but try to be a little unique and instead of aliens try to make some creatures up. Just let your imagination go wild.
Both stories seems generic and especially the second story, it is exactly like God of War, stick with first story and change it a little bit, you can do the opposite, humans invading a peaceful aliens world, so the humans would be called aliens, and the aliens, make a name for them,So Human kill the protagonist's family and hang him to die, then someone helps him in the last moment, then the story begins, he doesn't know why they did all of this to him and his family so he begins his journey to discover the truth about their attack.
Aliens have been done to death, try something like you end up fighting your other selfs army from a parralel universe which is slowly destroying the universe.
I havean idea that I believed would be interesting in video game form.
It's set in modern times,you start off as an average starry eyed boy living an idillic lifestyle in your small city. Out of nowhere demons invade, and usinga chainsawyou took from your garage you kill it. An angel descends from the heavens, dubs you "Bladewielder", and hands you a diamond studded golden chainsaw sword. You are now God's right hand of vengeance sent out to destroy a coming demon invasion. This will all be done with a sense of dark but satisfyinghumor. As for gameplay, you will be allowed to chop off the demons limbs and stuff in an altogether gory glory.

So in this game humans are in the middle of WW4 and aliens attack so humans have to band together to survive hmmm not too bad, As for weapon ideas let me think... also I cant really give you any ideas because I don't know exactly what kind of fell your going for but oh well
1. A Hum V with some sort of laser turret gun mounted on top (Kind of like in The Terminator).
2. Acid Grenades, Incindinary Grenades.
3. Chemical weapons.
Thats about all I can think of but I'm only posting here because I'm bored.
