I thought Gun was a pretty good game. I had a lot of fun with it.muthsera666
Same here, i enjoyed it quite a bit. And like the others have mentioned Red Dead Redemption looks really promising, i liked the first one a lot, it was pretty linear but this one looks to change that by creating a massive world for the player to explore.
Ive wanted that tiyep of game for years, but lost hope of it happening. Red Dead Redemption is gonna be a sandbox, but its set in 1908. Id prefer a game in the 1880s.
If you want another western sandbox game then just relax and wait. Fallout New Vegas is coming out fall of this year. Diablo-BWrong interpretation of Western. Western as in Western America, not Western as in Western hemisphere.
Old thread is old...who thought it would be a good idea to bump a 1 1/2 year old thread? Now I'm just adding to the madness.Im_singleOld thread may be old, but it's still a good question.

Rockstar's reason for this time frame has been mentioned in interviews and developmental diaries. Basically, the premise of Red Dead Redemption is that by this time in history, the west was beginning to see more regulation by the government, which gradually meant the end of the outlaw era. Local and state authority was growing at this time and the lawlessness and arbitrary nature of the legal system that had plagued the west for so long was creeping towards an inevitable conclusion in the early years of the 20th century.
It's actually an interesting backdrop for a western.
