I really need a rank list of the most played MMO, this year or another. I mean the amount of people involved - Steam, Xbox, PS3. I looked up the first 20 results of Google search but it didn't satisfy me. I guess there will be COD and WOW. but what else? How many people play the most popular MMO?

If you're into Sci-Fi MMO's, I'd recommend WildStar and Firefall ;)

They're both free and not P2W :)

World of Warcraft, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Planetside 2, Guild Wars are the ones that pop into mind. COD isn't an mmo...

World of Warcraft is still the most popular.

But if I were to guess a rough order of MMOs following that it would look iike:

Runescape
World of Tanks
Second Life
Lineage
Eve Online
FFXIV: ARR
Wildstar
Guild Wars 2
Planetside 2
Elder Scrolls: Online

MMO = Massive Multiplayer Online... He never said MMORPG. Therefore, yes, COD counts.

COD is not a MMO so it does not count

@wiouds: Do you know how many people play COD? Do you think any of them actually care about the campaign?

@Kiba---: I've played CoD before, and I actually do play for the campaign. Call me crazy, but I find them entertaining, in spite of how ridiculous they've gotten after the first Modern Warfare.

The only good thing about cod these days is the campaign.

64 player is not massive number of players.

Appearing in a small pit running around until you that game is over is not massive.

A game can be crazily popular for its online part but that does not mean that the Multiplayer online game is massive.

@wiouds: Eeeeeh. I guess you have a point. I never look at it that way. See, explanations are better than just going - "No. I'm right you're wrong. Nanananabooboo."

I just see it as there being a ton of people online that I can play with at anytime. But whatever, I'll concede.

they do a good job with the campaigns. It's no more ridiculous than your typical summer action movie. I personally don't like that brand of multiplayer...kill speeds are way too quick...but I do still enjoy the campaign.
