[QUOTE="Lionheart08"]Any game with the name Shin Megami Tensei on the cover. yokofox33
Yep. I think the original Persona might lead the pack though.
Good thing though is it's getting a PSP port in the future.[QUOTE="Lionheart08"]Any game with the name Shin Megami Tensei on the cover. yokofox33

If you have that sealed your looking at $400 straight up.FF VII is NOT....I repeat, NOT rare!! It got several print-overs and even a GH rerelease! Ditto FF VIII, IX, X and XII. Same with Legend of Dragoon.....
It's just that so many folks hold onto the game for nostalgic reasons. It's the same reason I hang onto my old SNES RPGs. Never know when that rainy day will come and you want to bask in the good times.
Ah heck, why bother. It's all been said before by others in past topics like this, including me.
Now ICO, that's one I don't see much. I don't see these much either.....at least not out rummaging or hitting flea markets, or used media stores / pawn shops
Chalk these up too. Remember though, they can all be had online if you can't find them out in the open, and if you know how to shop wisely for things or are a smart bidder (in the case of eBay auctions) you can get these for cheaper than what die-hard gamers normally are willing to shell out for these.
- Breath of Fire III & IV
- Xenogears
- Xenosaga III (I and II are more easily found)
- Anything from Konami that screams "RPG". Includes the Suikoden series, especially II and V....try near IMPOSSIBLE to find those two out there, with III and I coming in as less rare, but still not easy to find either. Ys: Ark of Napishtim is also a tough find)
- Anything from NIS America or Atlus (Shin Megami Tensei series, Ar Tonelico, Atelier Iris, Disgaea, etc)
- Any RPGs from Square-Enix that do NOT say 'Final Fantasy' or "Kingdom Hearts' on the cover.
- Grandia, the first one....toughie to find, unlike II and III.
- Anything in the Valkyrie Profile series.
- Anything in the "Tales of" series
- Anything Working Designs (a defunct company) put out there. (the Lunar series, Alundra, etc)
- Dark Cloud 2 isn't an easy find either.
All RPGs of course, and I guess especially in the PS1 era, if you weren't FF VII, you were toast, literally. It only means a goldmine of cash for anyone who has titles from that era in gaming in excellent condition....new and sealed if possible. I'm already starting to see some rarities in the PS2 genration too now that we're well into the current generation of consoles.

A black label copy is. It's like a comic book, the first printing of the comic will be worth the most because it's the hardest to find. That's why the Black Label versions go for 100+ on Ebay.

My first to disk are the black label and the third is the silver. I may go to ebay to complete my set though. :P
I don't know if its rare, but I have this weird game on the PS2 called *Sword Of The Samurai. At later fights, you get to use Japanese katanas, and one hit - you're dead. I still can't get past those fights. Mediocre game.
Suikoden 2 is one of the rarest game on the PSX.
*The game is actually Kengo: Legacy of the Blade. It was renamed to Sword Of The Samurai for Europe. The game still sucks though.
Kengo is about 3 bucks at gamestop.... Way of the Samurai, goes for about the same and Way of the Samurai II, last time I saw it, it was going for about 20 bucks.
Regardless, rare for games, has two meanings.... Expensively Rare... and just Hard to find games. For example, Suikoden II is expensively rare. Haunting Ground and Rule of Rose are just extremely hard to find.
As for a used copy of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, that worth about 85 bucks. Anymore than that, you've overpayed.
Einhander
Lunar Silver start story Complete (Depending on which disc set you have (there are 4 different disc sets), Whether or not you have the original box/map/hardbook)
Persona 2 eternal punishment
I want einhander so bad its not even funny. Persona 2 not so much as im not a big megaten fan. I have lunar silver star story with the original case but i dont have the box/map/hardbook. I do have a copy of this game with the rarest of the 4 disc sets (magic emperor/3 female trio) but its a shame i dont own the entire set. :/
disaster report, thankfully i found one today, now toping that is any of the snes n64 top gears except top gear 1, i found that everyt where i looked that sold snes games lol, 3000 and rally 2 are the most rarest top gear games,
if you found them well after snes ;.n64 is done, minus paying ridiculous ebay prices and amazon rip offs, you have good luck because ive been in and out of pawns several times to only come up with rally 2 , 1 time,
and 3000 never, this would been said for disaster report to because it took me 2-3 yrs well over 3 yrs since i left my original copy , ugh, to find this one,
i wonder how much more longer until i find top gear 3000-the only top gear game i need to complete a snes top gear collection ,
i had it before i sold it in 2003 so 2003-2009 is 6 yrs in total that ive had to relocate it,
and still cant find a single copy, im almost giving up ,
theres a few more to like ren and stimpy big buckaroos and mario is missing , , a few other snes titles i sold, and have now been lookng for for the same time period,
al i keep seeing is mario paint , mario fun with letters mario time machine and mario fun with numbers and i dont think theres are fun ,
really they aint, paint i already have for pc , its with ever pc made so just a few id like to point out,
theres also quite a few wii games that havent had enough copies, nascar kart racing which i pick the last copy at my gamestop lol,
and wii it self is rare,

Still not rare. People just like to charge more than it's worth, and people like paying it. There are always copies available for purchase. That's not rare at all.Well, sure FFVII is pretty rare if your'e looking at the blacklabel, but that's the same with any game, typically. I think the rarest games for the PS1 are Xenogears and Suikoden II easy.
For the PS2? jee it's hard to say. 6 months ago I would have said Digital Devil Saga. Sure ICO is somewhat hard to find too, but to be honest I'm not too sure what is "the rarest PS2 game".
TWIN QIX. 4 players, 1995, wicked awesome. Only 8, PS 1 versions hit the streets. i saw one behind a 6-inch bullet proof enclosure. A real gem...
Searching "Final Fantasy VII black label" on eBay got me 27 results. Some of them were Dirge of Cerberus, but most were actually Final Fantasy VII. I don't think there would be that many if it was truly rare. And there are probably a number of black label copies up for sale that weren't in the results.Well, sure FFVII is pretty rare if your'e looking at the blacklabel, but that's the same with any game, typically.
