  1. Visuals - The graphics of a game are usually the first thing to make you go "Wow", be it artistic or technical. Examples: Crysis, Gears of War, Wind Waker, Okami.
  2. Dialogue - Well written and interesting dialogue is something that always interests me in games, as it is rarely done well. If it is done well, it completely adds to the experience. If the dialogue is dull and unnatural, I find myself skipping the entire conversation. So yeah, excellent dialogue is a great addition to any game. Examples: Fallout, KotOR.
  3. Story - A good story should always blow you away. Good stories are pretty hard to find in videogames, but on that rare occasion when one presents itself, it's always a treat. Examples: KotOR, Metal Gear Solid.
  4. Intensity - Intensity is a great addition to a shooter, or any game for that matter. I'll never forget the first time I played Call of Duty when the numerous MG-42s starting firing at me. The intensity was insane, it really added a sense of immersion. Examples: Call of Duty (duh), Burnout.
  5. Cutscenes - What can I say? Cutscenes are awesome. They show you what the game engine cannot. They add to the story and look great. Examples: WarCraft III (every Blizzard game for that matter), Metal Gear Solid.

Of those 5 choices it's always the story most important... unless it's like an FPS or platformer or beatemup.

But for adventures/RPGs, always story.

Which are why MGS3 and FF7 are my two favorite games ever.

Games that blow me? I've never played one of those... Is there a Wiimote attachment that does that?

Anyways, I like games with good level design. (Wario Land 3)

Pretty much... almost all of the games that both critics and players like have really good atmosphere. Metroid Prime, MGS, Resident Evil, etc...

Playability and Control
A game can look really awesome and have a fantastic atmosphere, but that means nothing if you can hardly control your character.

Content
Again, the game can be really expansive... but you're doing the same thing all the time, it's not gonna be great.

Fun Factor
If it's not fun, who cares.

1. Storyline:

Examples: Final Fantasy VII, Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy VIII

2. Graphics:

Examples: Final Fantasy XII, Super Smash Bros. Melee (for it's time), Halo 1 and 2

3. Action:

Examples: 007 From Russia With Love, Star Wars Battlefront II, Super Mario Bros (entire series)

4. Replay Factor:

Examples: Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, Animal Crossing

5. Charm:

Examples: Croc, Animal Crossing, Kirby games

(sorry for the excessive use of Final Fantasy games, but they're the best examples of the 5 aspects)
