the last guardian: ico and shadow of the colossus are two of my favorite games ever. another game from team ico (or most of them) sounds just fine by me. the duo of the boy and that creature looks like it could form a really interesting dynamic.
journey: maybe my favorite activity in gaming is the simple act of exploration. surely, the people at thatgamecompany will keep it simple as well as enthralling. there were some tracked sections in their last game, flower, but there were also some sandbox-like environments where they did an admirable job of making me want to continue because of an emotional response rather than a fake carrot dangled in front of me. the multiplayer looks good too.
dishonored: another action rpg by a mix of the talent behind deus ex and arx fatalis (another game i want to play). i expect decisions based on developed play sty|es and maybe even emergent gameplay which sadly gets forgotten among "cinematic" gameplay nowadays.
the witness: braid created a little revolution when it was released and thats reason enough for me to be interested in what jonathan blow makes next. he also has more resources available to him now, so there are even more potential designs to make. simple designs can be beautiful, but there is power in the tangibility of 3D spaces.
anarchy reigns: its a platinum games beat em up. yes, please.
The games below aren't necessarily my five favorite, but they are five of my favorites.
1) Starhawk - I'm in the private beta (which isn't the full version of the multiplayer, butquite a bit of it is there) and its the most fun I've had since Warhawk. Giving teams the ability to build their own bases (including spawn points, vehicle construction yards, turrents and walls) makes things really, really interesting. Building strategies became a lot more complex even over the period of a couple weeks.
2) Ni No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch - Level 5 (who made the Dark Cloud series) working with Studio Ghibli on an rpg. What more needs to be said?
3) Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown - I fell in love with VF starting with the first game due to its technical combat, lack of overly complicated button inputs and stunning animation. With the exception of the underwhelming VF3 and the sloppy PS3 port, the series has not disappointed me. Sega has promised a lot of offline modes, which isn't of interest to real fight fans, but which is good for me. The campaign of VF Evo, which boasted very sharp AI which used a large number of fighting styles even for fighters of the same skill level (and there were 20 skills levels) is still the standard by which I measure fighters.
4) Littlebigplanet Vita - Mysteriously absent from announced launch line-up, this game has been in the pipeline for a while so it will hopefully a close release date will be announced soon. The developers have promised this will boast everything its console cousins had and more (to take advantage of the touchscreens). Some of the most talented members of the LBP community have been working with the developers in order to make this great.
5) Journey - I was in the beta, and I walked away very impressed. A game of pure exploration in which one wanders a beautiful desert (whose sands ripple like water) with the mountain that is your final destination always looming in the background. Made by the team who developed Flow and Flower.
Far Cry 2 wasnt as good as Far Cry Instincts for me.
Anyway:
5 - Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
4 - Bioshock Infinite
3 - Hitman 5
2 - South Park
1 - Mass Effect 3
1. Bioshock Infinite:
Ken Levine is the only developer this gen who I KNOW can weave a masterful narrative with incredible gameplay. Bioshock wasn't just my game of the generation, it was easily the best game I've played in all my time in gaming. This, hopefully, will be number 2.
2. The Last of Us:
Naughty Dog has proven what there capable with Uncharted. There production quality is over the scale. It's like watching a blockbuster film, and the potential of a survial horror esque cinematic blockbuster game is a wet dream of mine.
3. GTA V
All GTA games are a blast to play through. I loved GTA IV, so I'm obviously excited for this one. I just personally hope they take what Rockstar San Diego did with RDR, in terms of narrative and characters, and creates that in GTA V
4. Prey 2:
The enviorment looks fantastic, and to hear it might be a RDR light in a sci-fi world is orgasmic.
5. Mass Effect 3
Loved the previous 2...just hope Bioware doesn't manage to screw this one up ;)
The games below aren't necessarily my five favorite, but they are five of my favorites.

I have to say, it's too bad we are getting this as DLC, but not as a physical retail release. Would have loved to own a copy on it. Oh well...at least we are getting it in some format!
I was just about to make this thread :)
anyway
1) Mass Effect 3 (xbox): i've loved it since #1 and can't wait to see the finish.
2) Grand Theft Auto V (xbox): it's GTA, so it'll be awesome. I'm hoping htey continue with the serious type gaming and leave the complete insanity to Saints Row
3) Max Payne 3 (PC): heres hoping the new direction is solid, and that they stay loyal to the film noir/graphic novel roots of the story
4) Twisted Metal (PS3): the main reason I got a PS3 (ok, blu-ray was the main reason, this is second) was that they announced Twisted Metal was comming back, so many memories, hope to make some more.
5) Diablo 3 (PC): I've been waiting.
Honorable mention: NHL 13 (Xbox), favoruite sport, favrouite sport franchise, get it just about every year
Mass Effect 3 - loved the second one, got the third pre-ordered.
Other than that, I might get Lollipop Chainsaw, the Silent Hill HD Collection, and maybe Far Cry 3. Have to wait and see; I'm not really jumping out of my chair with excitement for any of them.
There are some games with what are probably placeholder release dates of 12/31/2012 like Afterfall: Insanity, Arcania: Gothic 4, Posession, Project Delta, Project Offset, Redwood Falls, Schwarzenberg and Wardevil: Enigma. I don't know much about them and for all I know half of them have probably been cancelled, but I'll keep an eye out for them.
1. Far Cry 3 Far Cry 2 is one of the most enjoyable shooters I've played in YEARS. Its sequel looks astounding (the stealth and melee attacks). 2. Grand Theft Auto V I'm playing IV right now and loving it. V is only going to be better (especially after what they learned about gun combat in RDR). 3. Xenoblade I need one last epic game on my Wii.foxhound_fox
I played far cry 2 the other day but i couldn't get into it i much prefered the original far cry and far cry instincts.
1. Witcher 2 on the XBox
2. Mass Effect 3 (with reservations after the Dragon Age 2 fiasco)
3. Grand Theft Auto 5
4. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
5. Prey 2 looks awfully good

In no particular order my top four are Mass Effect 3, Asura's Wrath, Anarchy Reigns and Devil May Cry (I'm getting my beat 'em up on). The remaining slot can be filled with a mix of Bioshock Infinite, Lollipop Chainsaw and Metal Gear Rising. I also have my eye on Binary Domain (I don't know why but this one has me intrigued).
[QUOTE="chilly-chill"][QUOTE="Archangel3371"]So I'm guessing the game's not on your list then, not that I know or care what your list consists of. :PArchangel3371Sounds like your kind of butt hurt...If you think that then you've read my comment incorrectly. :P Ah That must be it
5) The Last Guardian--I played SotC and it's one of my favorite games of all time. This looks to be just as brilliant.
4) Tomb Raider--It's Uncharted with Lara Croft. Done.
3) Hitman: Absolution--I love this series and stealth games in general, plus I think this will be the best of the best with everything I've seen and read so far.
2) Bioshock Infinite--Ken Lavine is front and center from a creative standpoint. He IS Bioshock.
1) Diablo III--Does this really need an explanation?
Honorable Mention: Twisted Metal, Dishonored
yeah, ni no kuni looks really good. its sure to be visually beautiful thanks to studio ghibli, but level 5 has a knack for making classic japanese designs exceptionally well. dragon quest viii played like a direct adaptation of the 2D jrpg's of yore to 3D, glorious overworld map and all. im getting a pokemon vibe from ni no kuni and im sure all nintendo will do with the main pokemon games is add new pokemon. The games below aren't necessarily my five favorite, but they are five of my favorites.

4. Bioshock Infinite
5. Kingdom of Amular
I am also excited for Xenoblade on the Wii.
Looks to be another very good year, but Mass Effect will top every list I ever make until they screw it up. Diablo 3 is a no-brainer as I'm such a sucker for a good loot-grind, which is why Borderlands 2 comes in right after. R6P is something I'm looking very forward to as well since I've loved the Vegas games, and Inifinite looks soooo good to me despite the fact that I find the original to be overrated (not bad, mind you, just not the mind-blowing experience others find it to be).
1. Twisted Metal
2. Sly Cooper Thieves in Time
3. Ghost Recon Future Soldier
4. South Park The Game
5. Tales of Graces F
5. Darksiders 2
4. starhawk
3.assassins creed 3(or whatever the hell name they want to give it this time)
2.ff xiii-2( put's up flame shield)
