Okay, so 2009 was an amazing year for gaming, despite a lot of games being pushed back to this year. Now I know IW caused that, but you can also thank them for trying to make 2010 even better year for gaming, with big name games coming out in the early half of the year (that's a first! Unlike previous years where all we've had is just GTA and SF as the big early-birds) like Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Dragon Age expansion, and more. So, with that said, what games (that will come out this year) will you be getting year and why?
For me, those games would be:
- Lunar: Silver Star Harmony (PSP) - I know it's a remake of an old Sega CD game, but when I played the demo released a few weeks ago, I was impressed. I loved the music, battles, and some of the lines. Now, that's not reflective of the final game (obviously), but that's enough for me to preorder the special edition, which comes with a music CD (which better have that aweome battle theme on it) and cards of the girls that I guess can join your party. (I never had a Sega CD or a PS1.) Click here for my impresions on the game, but beware of posting there as it's a few pages back right now.
- Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) - Okay, I have both a 360 and a PS3, but since I'm at college and my brother is not, I don't get to play either during the week. That is one thing that is preventing me from finally deciding what platform to get FFXIII on, but I believe the PS3 would be better (though I actually enjoy doing disc changes every now and then, as well as seeing the images when doing so on the Xbox 360) because of the Blu-ray format. Which means hi-res picture and sound. Oh, and I like Final Fantasy and most JRPGs (except maybe White Knight Chronicles because of the way missions and combat are setup), so this game'll be interesting...except for the Leona Lewis part.
- Dragon Age Origins: Awakening (PC) - Okay, so I've barely made any progress so far on Dragon Age, but I do intend to finish the game, despite my laptop having trouble when there's a lot of action on-screen. When I do, I'll be getting this depending on what exactly it will add to the game...other than another campaign of course.
- Project Natal - It looks cool and I can't wait to get my hands on it, if it's cheap enough in price.
- Alan Wake(360) - I've been waiting for this ever since 2006, and I don't know what took them so long, but I'm glad to see it's finally coming out this year. I see it as the 360's Heavy Rain, but AW looks good enough for me to play. I was originally going to get it on PC but they apparantly cancelled it.
- Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep (PSP) - Finally, the next KH game (even though it's not KH3 and take place before KH1) that closely resembles the PS2s in graphics and gameplay. I don't know a whole lot about the game other than that Zack will be a new cameo. (Where's Rinoa?! Not that she would have anything to do with being Squall's girl (or wife for that matter) in KH...). Also, one of the characters looks a lot like Zack in CC form, and another looks exactly like Roxas. Anyway, if the game is anywhere near the same as the PS2 games in gameplay and graphics, it's a sure-buy for me.
- Final Fantasy Agito XIII (PSP) - that is, IF Square gives us ANY clue on what's going on with development of the game...
- And of course, any other game that may be announced at E3 and beyond that are really good.
Well, that's my list, what's yours and why?
