I like Doom and Eye of the Beholder.

Jazz Jackrabbit, Commander Keen series, Doom , Warcraft , Aladdin , Lion King, C&\c (though I spent most of the time playing the Win95 version.
those are some of them, , but the list could go on and on.
One of the best games that used the build engine. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who loved Duke3d and Doom
There's a lot. Doom, Magic Carpet, Ultima Underworld, F1 Grand Prix II, Duke Nukem 3D, Decent, Hexen, The Terminator Future Shock, Dark Forces, The Need For Speed, ect.
i'm surprised no one mentioned these games:
Dune
Dune 2
Legend of Kyrandia: Hand of Fate
Monkey Island
Monkey Island 2: Lechuck's revenge
The wizardry series
The Ultima series
The goldbox series
Star Control 2
I have Duke 2, Monkey Island 1 and 2 , and I also have Star Control 2 on 3DO. all good games, though none are among my favourites Monkey Island is very funny I have to say.i'm surprised no one mentioned these games:

I had Dune 2 at the time it was new, but since I was only about 4, I didn't get too involved (at that age, if its not a platformer or a fighting game, I won't play it)
Warcraft , Warcraft 2 and C&C were the ones I got into.

It's just that for me the 3D of FPS games, the strategy in it's RTS, TBS and city builder games, the freedom in it's WRPG's was so complex ahead of everything consoles had to offer... specially games like Star contro 2l and Dune 1 and 2 ((bare in mind at the time I didn't even know the sega CD and 3DO existed, much less their versions of these games))
P.S. that soundtrack is amazing

Yep, interplay was part of the reason why I loved PC gaming better. Appogee... I liked their games, but it wasn't until they became 3D realms that I REALLY loved their games

then of course you have Blizzard, (which had a different name) , Westwood, id, , etc the only annoying part was installing Win95 , it came on something like 50 floppy discs if I remember correctly :P still it was better than windows 3.1.Jazz was a pretty average platformer imho. Yeah, it was PC's substitute for Mario and Sonic and a nice little platformer but nothing special.

Ever heard of a CD drive?:P
I used to have Windows 3.1, I think my parents got the CD version of Win 95 after it came out. But I wouldn't be surprised if the floppy version had 50 or so discs.
Redneck Rampage.
kittensRjerks
i had the demo of that game, it was hillairous!
my favorite DOS game is Stunts. Next would be the Punisheror the original Mech Warrior

odd feature, I assume it was basically overclocking (it can't have have been an overdrive chip, those are by default on) I can't remember what speed my CPU was, I just remember it being a Pentium R (which apparently was like a higher end Pentium)[QUOTE="M3tr4nk0"][QUOTE="Darkman2007"] that computer didn't have a CD drive sadly, it was my dad's computer which wasn't all that new (despite the fact he workd in the IT business and should know better) my first computer did have a CD drive, Pentium R , 32MB RAM :PDarkman2007

As in "Pentium (R)"?
The button was there for compatibility with older games which could run too fast. My CPU's default clock was actually 100 MHz, with Turbo off it was underclocked to 50. But it was completely useless, I never needed to turn it off since my CPU was already slow enough.:P

not sure, though it doesn't really matter as I can remember Quake running on that thing quite decently (albeit software mode) so it could have been a Pentium cheesecake and it wouldnt have mattered :P
though I have a feeling you are right, though I have an excuse as I was 7 at the time :P
I can't see how a feature like that would be useful for older games, 50Mhz is still too fast for really old DOS games (ie mid 80s stuff) , there were programs for that kind of stuff.
My favourites are the ones that I've rated the highest here on Gamespot, obviously. My ratings are intended to be some sort of approximation of how good I consider the games I've played to be. Where to draw the line, I don't know.

Let me ask you folks, if I may... I saw "Dune (I wanna say) 2000" for PS1 the other day, I might be wrong about the "2000" part, but I recall a friend of mine used to swear by those "Dune" titles. What are they, and what is it that keeps you coming back to them after all this time?

Dune 2000 is basically a remake of Dune 2 with C&C's graphics, it wasn't very good I have to say, not bad, but not great , I had it on the PC years ago , got bored of it and went right back to C&C , Age of Empires , Starcraft and Red Alert[QUOTE="ohthemanatee"]

reminds me alot of what they did th C&C on the N64 it has some 3D buildings and features, but the problem with it is that there is chronic slowdown in the game, the frame rate can be unpredictable depending on how much stuff is on the screen. the PS1 and Saturn versions, while looking like the DOS version , at least ran well. well , sort of, the PS1 version was too fast, almost like the PC version on the highest speed, on the Saturn , it let you choose the speed like on the PC.Please Log In to post.
