do you people think that they will one day eventually replace the game pads or will they not? Although i hpe that they never do that but i just cant seem to wonder that if one day we won't be needing game pads to play videogames.

I really like the premise behind Natal, but I think it's pretty severely flawed. In the demos they showed, people were always playing in a big room with lots of space to move around. I think too many people won't have the space to use it properly, so it could be largely ignored because people won't be able to use it properly.
I don't really know enough about sony's to make any comment
Makes me think they are making dumb choice of playing catch up.
They should've spent that money on making that's lacking on this generations....
Games.
Wii worked because of price point and it worked out of box. Natal and PS3 motion control both needs to purchase console and additional expensive device.
Makes me think both companies are missing the point.
No, I wish it would just stay the way it is. I play games to relax, not to exercise with motion control.
i hope they never completely take out the game pad. I dont think i could even have my wii without my gamecube controllers. anyways, Im kinda a nintendo fanboy, so i dont really like the way that other companies are going with the their motion sensing consoles. I preferred there to be the wii with the motion controls and the 360/ps3 just for the good old controller gaming.
wow..that is some really helpfeul comments. but do any of you think that both sony and microsoft's motion controllers is just another "me too" strategy. i mean what if Sony instead of focusing on the motion controll focused on recucing the price point and making good family friendly games.
Well, really, those two focuses aren't really that big of a deal. Games are the prices they are, and there isn't really a chance for them to go down. There are too many costs involved in the production and distribution. Also, if you're buying a PS3, chances are that you aren't really looking for family games. A PS3 is a fairly hardcore system, both with the stiff price and the majority of the content of the system. These are known factors, and hoping they change isn't really a good plan. So what if motion controller is a me-too strategy? If it means that they can incorporate well into new games and provide new ways to look at gaming, I'm all for exploration. Many of the games on the Wii have just tacked-on motion controls, but if a company really looks at how they can use the system, it can be a great help. Example: In Saint's Row 2, when tagging, you have to break to shake the spray can. In the game now, you have to move the Right Stick (360) up and down, which is somewhat awkward when trying to hurry to avoid the games, but if you could just shake the controller up and down, it would make it faster, easier and more immersive.wow..that is some really helpfeul comments. but do any of you think that both sony and microsoft's motion controllers is just another "me too" strategy. i mean what if Sony instead of focusing on the motion controll focused on recucing the price point and making good family friendly games.

I can lean both ways, at first the process of these new motion controlled gaming peripherals opens the door to complete virtual reality, something we have been dreaming about since the 80's, and you can't have true virtual reality with a gamepad.
On the other hand, people play games as a form of relaxation, sitting in front of a TV with gamepad in hand is the best way to chill after a long day at school, work, etc, why would you want to move your ass around after spending 8 hours in front of a desk, or on your butt working, I know I wouldn't.
So in conclusion motion sensing is great to enter the next stage of virtual reality, but it shouldn't take away the option of atleast having a gamepad handy if you just want to sit back and relax after a hard day.
