I think it is well worth it plus with the sales going on you should be able to pick it up at a good price. For me I hated the first game I just could not get into it but it was the total opposite wit DR 2 the controls a better and the weapon system is a big improvement I think it is just a lot more fun to actually play through, I've already finished the game with the best ending and I've gone straight onto the next so I can level up.

It's crap, they should of done more work for a sequal 4 years after the first one. Lazy, tacky and dated and it's the type of game that doesn't age well. It's loading times, frame rate and crowding effects are indeed 4 years behind.

I was expecting something, well, good from Dead Rising 2. Oh wow, you can now save the game in more places! Awesome, let's bring out Dead Rising 3 in another3 years but this time, you can now hold one more item!

I was unbelievably disappointed. After playing Case Zero I thought the whole weapon combo thing might turn out to be a fun addition, but I wound up feeling in DR2 like it was completely optional and not worth the time or effort (I beat the full game with only spiked bats and a sniper rifle). The fact that there is no way to simply enjoy the game without constantly being pushed forward with missions etc with the clock wound up being more irritating to me than DR1, where there was the final survival mode (decreasing health, no repawned items) that I freaking loved. I also thought the plot twists in the final third of the game were just plain stupid, boneheaded writers overwhelming everything that had made parts of the game enjoyable up to that point. And I'll never understand why you're forced to do an irrelevent fetch quest... never mind.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the 2 replies above mine. The game isa lazy sequel, and the combo weapons, while fun, are too hard to find and break too easily. I rented it and played it alot, but quite honestly, I wish I had those hours back for a good game.

Have you played the first one? If not, go for that instead. DR2 just didn't "click" with me like the first one did. There was just something that I couldn't stand when playing the second. I couldn't even finish it and I was probably one of the people on these boards who was expecting it the most.

Ah, that sounds like the console version. The PC version looked great, ran smoothly and had tiny loading times, so my opinions of the game were very positive indeed.

I thought that Dead Rising 2 solved many of the first games problems, and was just a blast to play. It's one of the top games of the year, in my mind. Although I can definitely see why people were frustrated or disappointed with it.

I thought it was okay, but nothing really special. Mowing down hordes of zombies can be fun, but the bosses in the game are just ridiculously hard (unless you basically glitch them).

I thought it was fun for the first few hours, but then it really started to grind me down. All of the escort missions and having to go back and forth to get your daughter Zombrex was just too much. Then of course after killing a few thousand zombies it felt about as dull as trying to cut through a tree with butter knife. It's funny because I enjoyed the first one. I just think that this gameplay formula simply does not do it for me anymore. The game just became incredibly boring way too fast.

Honestly if they sorted the loading times I can forgive the rest of the stuff, if the PC version is really that much better I might check it out and play it co-op.

I really enjoyed it myself. I never had a problem with the save system from the first game plus this one let you save in a couple of more slots so it all seemed fine to me. The weapon creation system was a very cool addition. The location the game is set in is awesome. The survivor AI seemed much better and it was way easier to have and keep a bunch of followers with you at a time. The game was pretty funny as well. The only thing I didn't like as much as the first game was the music. The music when fighting the psychopaths in the first DR was better.

Only if the price reaches $5-$10, then get it.
