I hated gamefly at first, but it's grown on me after two months of having it. I've discovered some games I love and others I hate and am happy I didn't buy. Although the shipping times are a little lengthy, I can usually play two games a month, which for $16 isn't bad in my opinion. I'm not in love with the company by any means, it has many downfalls, but I like the idea of renting games and not always just buying them. Sure some games are worth buying, but in my opinion not every game is worth owning.

Is it me or should game renting be a much bigger thing then it is??

I think its just you. With steam sales and other sales games and the local public library where i can borrow games for free, i have no reason to also have a "netflix" for gaming.

But its good that you´re having fun with Gamefly.

@Jacanuk Hey, I can't blame you. I don't use it for my playstation, but more so my 3DS since it's let me explore a lot of titles. This post was more so asking about what you guys use for rentals and such and not so much to praise GameFly. Like I said, it has a lot of reasons for sucking, but I've kind of liked it for my 3DS since I don't find a lot of the games to be worth $40 (on a handheld). I think GameFly is a great concept that could be executed in a much better way

I use to rent some what regularly but sometime early into the previous gen I stopped. The number of great games coming out grew considerably and when I rented games I always felt rushed to play them. Purchasing them allows me to play them at my leisure and I can jump from game to game if I choose to. There's a lot of great deals these days and you can get so many great games from the previous gen dirt cheap. I also enjoy having a collection of games at my disposal.

With how much I game, gamefly is a godsend. I buy the games I really want and rent the rest, really good if buying games for ur many consoles grows to cumbersome.

@Archangel3371 Another valid point. I agree with you completely, however unfortunately I don't financially have the ability to buy every game I want to try out. I tend to test them, and buy them if I like them, or beat and return them if I don't. The reason I like renting is because only about 1 in 8 games or so I rent I find that I actually want to keep. I definitely understand feeling rushed though with rentals. I wish some kind of digital rental system for less money could come about, but not sure if that would be better or not

Oh yeah renting can definitely be good but my gaming style can be pretty inconsistent and I can jump from game to game pretty frequently.
