What difficulty do you play your games on?

when starting up a new game, it often allows you to select your difficulty.

what difficulty do you usually choose? i oftne choose hard, but then i'll never beat it since i might get stuck at some point. i should start with normal, lol

how about you?

Normal because it is standard.. or if it is something I have already beat, or think I can beat, then I'd like to make it as hard as possible :D

normal, since i don't really have the patience for a punishing difficulty, and a boss battle definitely loses its impact if you have to do it a couple of times.

I always play my first playthrough of a game on Normal with subsequent playthroughs are on the next highest difficulty of my previous playthrough.

Normally,I beat a game in normal mode twice;then the third time,I play it in hard mode or higher.

Generally I do my first play through on normal, then I replay it on the hardest difficulty if I want to go again.

Mostly normal, although with Halo I always started on Heroic. I only play on harder difficulties if it makes sense for the game, or I am not interested in the story and just want a challange.

I normally play my games on the easiest difficulty. If it's a game I enjoy or feel I could complete on a harder difficulty, I play it. Admittedly, when I was playing Wolfenstein and Bad Company I jumped in at the deep end, on the Hardest difficulty.

If I own the game i play it on Hard so that it can last a while. rentals i play on normal.

pretty random O.o if its a game in a series I know, I usually crank up the diff.

If it is a new game series, I do not know, I pick "Normal".

If its a game series I know will whoop me sideways, ill pick easy ^^

If I start playing alone, its normal. If I want to fool around and act like im God than the easiest difficulty. If its a co-op campaign game, I prefer we always start with the hardest difficulty possible :D

i always play on hard. I always love a challenge.

Umm, usually normal at first, and if the game is worth playing again I'll gradually work my way up.

On hard, except music games.

I pretty much always choose normal... But sometimes I chose easy. After I've beaten it I try the more difficult levels

I go with the normal, then upgrade if the game play is too easy. Once I go through a game on normal I will go through on the different settings.

Normal the first round, then the 2nd round i just jump to the hardest difficulty. If im looking for challenge, i go all out.

I always play them on normal. If it's an FPS (which usually have 4 difficulties), then the seconds hardest. If I found it quite easy, my second playthrough I'll play it on hard. The only exception to this is GH/RB, I always play those on Expert, but only because the difficulties on those games are drastically different.

Normal/medium on the first playthrough

From the second playthrough onwards, I play on Hard.

I start on the normal setting, but usally i jack it up a little. Games have been dumbed down.

I always play on normal difficulty - usually that's just perfect for me. If I play it a second time, I'll go to hard. If it turns out to be a really hard game, I'll restart on easy.

This may sound odd but most RPGs where there's an 'easy' option I choose. Why? Cause I don't have alot of time and easy mode I can get through it quickly and move on.

What I've doing is I choose the normal only and after I mastered it, I tranfer to hard..

easy to normal to hard.

it gives a length to the game and let u play it multiple times.i find it more fun.

I always start on normal when I first play a game.If it's to easy then I just go up a difficulty.

Normal, don't have that much time to sink into a single game. Hard is for milking the game to death for extended value. IMO.

Although for arcade type games like sports, racing, fighting, I'll up it fairly quickly after the controls are learned.

Moderate, then hard if I play it a second time; I hate getting stuck on a certain part for too long like the ice queen boss in Mass Effect...damn I swear that's impossible to do on hard...
