What do you guys think about a zombie survival rpg game?

I'm pretty sure there aren't any zombie survival based games out there. Left 4 dead RE, killing floor aren't really survival. We haven't really had an "Ultimate" zombie game IMO.

What about a zombie rpg? It could use elements from fallout and the elder scrolls(single player, A main storyline with MANY sidequests and hundreds of hours of play). It could be similair to the walking dead in terms of story(no drama though). You must fight for survival with limted food and ammo, helping yourself and others along the way. It would have plenty of action and danger along the way though.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bethesda or any other major rpg developer makes a zombie game like this. It's about time.

Dead Island?

Though personally my favorite is the NotD:SO map for WC3. Custom map featuring marines with different specializations (Recon, Medic, Demolitions, etc.). Not quite what you had in mind, I'm sure, but great fun. Hard as hell though.

Dead Island.. but I would prefer a 3rd person rpg game.

A lot of people say Dead Island, but I personally think it's a crappy game. A good zombie RPG game with the features described in this topic would be awesome in my opinion, and personally I would like it to have a decent plot like the classic Resident Evil games. I'm kind of sick of all the zombie games with non-serious plots like Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising.

Dead Island?...Oh wait you mean a GOOD RPG Survival Zombie Game ?..hmm no ty im kinda tired of zombie games.

I think I'd like a zombie RPG if it had the kind of humor like the movie "Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicked Dead". It would be nice if it was scary, too, but that's probably too much to ask. The scariest non FPS game for me was Dead Space and it wasn't really scary, more like spooky.

i think a game like stalker would actually be awesome to take inspiration from for a zombie survival game...u have no goal but to survive and help people out...the only ammo u have is what u can afford or scrounge...u should be alone for most of it...seems liek it would be fun that way...

Dead State is basically going to be Fallout in a zombie apocalyptic setting, with meaningful (and difficult) choices to boot. If it delivers on its promises, it'll be *the* zombie survival RPG to beat.

Dead Island isn't a survival game so it doesn't fit the OPs description. But I must say Dead Island has one of the best melee combat systems in any FPS game ever, and their next title Dying Light is looking to be even better.

L4D had a plot? Get from point A to point B and stay alive isn't much of a plot, serious or otherwise. That game was just arcade fun to me, and I don't think it was trying to be anything else =)

Isn't State Of Decay an RPG Zombie open world game??? that's meant to be really good.

Some of the very first survival horror games were pretty much zombie survival RPG's, such as War of the Dead (1987, MSX2) and Sweet Home (1989, NES).

What about DayZ? That still around?

Zombies alone is a theme overly common but combine it with an RPG and survival and I'm in. Would definitely play such a game.

Dead Island? Day Z? The issue is that a true "zombie survival simulator" would be extremely tedious and repetitive.
