Have a look at the article here: http://www.callofdutymappacks.com/news/the-price-is-right/ We have just gotten to the stage (or more xbox 360 uses have) where if they purchased all map packs, you'd have spent more money on the map packs than the game itself for Black Ops. Have a read! What do you think?

map packs are a complete and utter rip off. They should be $5 at most. As it is now you're essentially paying 1/4 the price of a new game for 5 maps.

Outrageous. 15 dollars for 4 maps is a rip off (I don't play zombie mode).

I think they are a rip-off, but my opinion doesn't matter. People will still buy them no matter how expensive they are.

I really like Blck Ops. I have not and will not buy the DLC though, the prices are a joke.

I dont mind it, some videogames are still the cheapest form of entertainment in my opinion. If you bought Black Ops and all the map packs (except the zombie one) that's $120, I have around 20 days on the game and I don't know of anything else that I can get 20 days of entertainment for $120. But it would be nice if they went back to 800 points per map pack but that's not gonna happen.

I don't have a problem with them myself. I've purchased map packs for other games where it was 3 for $10 so 5 for $15 sounds fair to me.

It's way too expensive for me to justify buying them. Other people may play the game enough to get a good value out of them though.

It's pure exploitation of a demanding and popular franchise. Nothing more. For that reason, I refuse to be a part of it until somewhere down the line they release them as free updates when the demand has finally dried up. But, right now, releasing a game incomplete at full price just to suck more money out of the consumer is just disgusting.

I play a lot of Call of Duty so to me the map packs are fairly priced, and I know I'm going to get more than my money's worth out of them. For example, I'm not going to be buying the new Zombies Map Pack when it releases for the PS3 because I know I'd never play the amount of hours I feel are worth the price tag.

You pay the same price per map ($3) as in many games. If you don't like it, you don't need to buy it.

I think they are a rip off.

Games need to go back to the days you could mod and make your own maps and share them free.4 maps for 15$? hell no.

Anyone remember Unreal Tournament 2004? You had 30+ great maps right there on the disc, you didn't have to pay any kind of money for more.#

Its a real shame games like that aren't around any more.

No one cares what anyone does with his money, because that doesn't change the fact that it is the worst rip off of this generation.

DLC that can tear apart the community should be free. Maps are the best example for that.

if i love the games i have no problem shelling out extra dough on maps ( unless they are nothing more then a cash in aka maps/dlc that comes out same day/week/month as the game, or to far over priced/not worth the price ) i bought the first two map packs for Black-Ops and enjoyed them very much, i no longer play the game enough nor see myself playing it much longer to drop the money on the 3rd map and im not a fan of zombie mode so i wasnt ever gonna buy that

5$ will be ideally.

10$ will be ok.

15$ is a bit much.

They need to take notes from epic games. They are doing a lot of things right. They reward you for buying everything with a discount, and they are also a lot cheaper per map.

A while back I read something about these AU prices online.

Basically, the minimum wage in Australia is a lot more than in the U.S.A, so when it comes to hours worked to afford a game AU takes less than the US.

Still better than 15 dollars=) In the end map packs should be a way to thank the player for buying the game, not a way to get more and more money out of him.

They are a ripoff. I have never and will never buy a map pack. The closest I've come is buying the vietnam expansion for bc2 for $5 on the steam sale.

The map packs for CoD are a big rip off. The whole CoD franchise is overly hyped in my opinion. Black Ops lag on Ps3 was game breaking.

15$ for just maps is a ripoff. Period.

Yet they still sell millions and millions. And gamers wonder why games are getting shorter with more DLC, cause 60$ for a game isnt good enough anymore.

I think map packs are overpriced. Unfortunately, DLC can turn a 60-dollar game into a 100-dollar game. I think alot of DLC could be free if game publishers weren't out for a profit. But it's also important to remember that game companies are just that-- companies, and you could argue that their sole objective is to make money.

They cost too much. I would rather buy another game than pay that much money for dlc.
