What do you think of it? Do you buy DLC?

I've never bought any DLC. And since many developers hide the content that already exists as DLC, only to squeeze out more cash from people, I dislike it more than I like it. DLC is fine.. when it's fine.. but too many are abusing it. Feels like DLC exists more as an excuse to release unfinished games. I'd have zero problems with that if the DLC were free.
So overall, I dislike it, but there are some good DLC stuff too.
I'm not a big fan of DLC. I have been suckered into buying it for games that I was close to getting all achievements for. In my experience, it's been an overpriced rehash of levels I had already played. The worst was Skate, in which multiple DLC were EXACT replicas of on of the parks I had already played with different colored ramps...
I think it can be a good deal, but is largely a marketing ploy to make us pay close to pay double the price for a game we already bought, just to play the same level over again.
If the DLC has effort put into it and it's not released a week after release and only contain a 10min quest + an armor that should allready be in the game I don't mind it. Here is what I do mind: Pre-order Battlefield 3 now and get the first expansion for free!!!
I dislike the overall concept and the troubeling path it leads to, but I will buy teh DLC for my most favourite games.
Fix'd. ;) Anyways, it depends. If the DLC's good, I'll be getting it. If it's something like what Reptylus said, then hell no.Depends on the company.
I will never buy Capcom DLC, since they will make a Super Ultimate MarvelVSCapcom3 3D Arcade Edition Turbo HD Remix.

I don't mind it too much, I just wish they wouldn't put the dlc achievements in my achievements list even though I don't have the dlc.
I'm not that keen on it as more then often it is pretty half arsed. What I hate fully though is multi player DLC that tends to have an incredibly small life span and smaller community depending on the game....
I only like DLC is sizeable content additions that are released long after the game is, like the expansion packs of days past. A good example is the Shivering Isles expansion to Oblivion.
I despise DLC that is akin to character unlocks in fighting games or map packs for FPS multiplayer though. They're obvious cash grabs that are rarely worth the price that's charged. The only DLC of this sort I've bought was the difficulty mode and Protoman unlocks in Mega Man 9, and I don't foresee myself buying any more of them.
I like the idea. I mean all it is an expansion pack. There is such a thing as good DLC. However, there is also bad DLC, like Alan Wake where it was necassary to finish the story, or in the case where the DLC unlocks stuff on the disc. However stuff like in Dragon Quest IX where it's free stuff a week is awesome.
I don't love DLC and don't buy much of it. I do buy the ones that will provide a good amount of playtime for the money, such as Undead Nightmare for Read Dead. Also felt like I got my moneys worth from Old World Blues for Fallout recently.
Basically, if the game is good enough that I would buy an expansion for it but they break it up into DLC (Fallout is a good example), then I might buy the DLC. Price has to match the content, if the total price will come to more than 30-40 dollars (roughly what expansion packs used to be) then I pass.
Will never buy a map pack, horse armor, weapon pack, etc.
I'm not a big fan of it since it seems like they just release games with the barebones and expect you to buy more stuff. I feel like COD is the worst at this since all you get are a few mp maps. Other games like ES: Oblivion and Borderlands do give you a great deal of content, and when they come out as GOTY or special editions with the dlc it really is a lot of content that you're getting. But for the most part I'm not a big fan of dlc since it just seems like a cheap way for the companies to make some quick money.
I support DLC when it is a substantial addition to a COMPLETE game, not one watered down so that DLC can earn the developer more money of the already steep $60 price tag. I could go on a case by case basis as to why DLC works or doesn't but I will just pick one game out for demonstration: Blazblue Continuum Shift.
I don't know if the community can be trusted (claims that the DLC character information was already ON the disc, just locked), but assuming this is so, it is a cheap way to earn more money. If the characters are truly complete add-ons not originally planned for release with the game, then it would be worth it. I know that companies these days are all about deadlines, so material in the game is typically axes to make these deadlines. In this sense, I can welcome DLC at reasonable costs to get more out of the game.
However, DLC designed to unlock things already on the disc in any regard is a big no. Make it unlockable through challenges in the game, not through the player's wallet.
